Default Back Up The Truck Please

Im sitting here now thinking that plenty of games without ozzie have been played to evaluate the white sox and Kenny Williams. Now I still stand by the fact that Ozzie needed to be gone. With no distractions from dumbass ozzie KW should be better right? Things should be smoother? nope.

Heres the issue. Yes Robin makes the lineup, he is the one that puts Beckham in the 2 hole, he is the one that uses a loogey pitcher (Ohman) vs righties, he is the one trotting out the worst OPS in baseball in Brent Morel. With that said as the GM watching this cluster fuck of a baseball team he needs to step in, he needed to step in 2 weeks ago with morel and beckham but yet no changes have been made. This is on KW. All of this. He had a good ride but its time for Rick Hahn to takeover.

Any chance he moves up to VP of Baseball Operations or President to let Hahn take the reins or would he leave the organization?

that was the talk last year. Hahn needs full control. he is a stat nerd and would never have beckham in the 2 hole and never would he allow such non sense with morel.

I wonder if they would revisit that move. It would make the most sense to me.

Kenny isn't all that bad, but I agree, its time for a change. I'd guess that if the Sox don't make the playoffs, he gets promotion (he's one of Jerry's boys, he won't be fired) and Hahn is the new GM.

which is why the GM has to step in and force robins hand. im sure KW wants Robin to learn but in this division you can do almost anything if you just tweak some spots.

With KW ego you wonder who is making the call on morel...KW just pisses me off...hard for me to be objectionable when it comes to him.

It was said before the season, but this is just reaffirming it to me. KW is using Ventura as his "fall guy" if the season pans out to be a failure.

kw needs to back up the truck.

    Im tired of this shit.

We all know Detroit is committed with prince signing, so DD is going to have to go out and get a bat and a pitcher.

Lets say they get CQ and a Pitcher like demp. its over. all over.

Its time to move pieces, get a bit younger, free up dough and do a 2 year project.

Peavy, floyd, thornton, konerko, dunn,AJ,Rios etc could help this team for the future.

Cant wait for the cubs to take 2 of 3 or sweep since we have zack stewart pitching and for some reason, cant win at home.

Na, because Floyd and Humber plus three random prospects that ccount for nothing are worth Garza and Dempster... /brett

No, Cubs will still lose... you guys are a first place team and we're last in the MLB, there's a reason for that.

I don't think there is anyway KW can co-exist in the organization w/ any other potential GM candidate. As some of you pointed out, he has a big ego, and will most likely have trouble losing control of the team that he has built. If KW isn't going to be GM I feel like he has to be completely gone for it to work. But then again, I am a realist and I know Jerry won't fire him because of his loyalty to his employees. Clusterfuck on the field and in the front office. If they don't promote Rick soon, he is going to be snatched up by another team.

The pitching matchups don't mean shit when all the Cubs players do is swing at crap outside the zone.

Konerko and AJ have to have 10/5 rights. Peavy is a free agent to be (has a ridiculous team option for 22 million next year or a 4 million buyout). We've discussed the returns on bullpen guys. They certainly could be moved depending on some factors.

yes. AJ,PK for sure have the NTC. but im sure most would be willing to go. but obviously it wont happen because what kind of message does that send to the fans? Im just pissed off because I have a feeling DET will get desperate to make a couple of moves and we will stand pat which means no playoffs.
