Ladd is only 24 actually. He was a top pick for a reason he does everything you need.

Whats kind of funny is out of all the players on the team they acquired through trades, his deal was the least of a steal, Ladd for Ruutu was actually fair, the majority of the rest of the deals are were so Hawk favoring lopsided in hindsight.
