Joe, I thought this thread's title was pretty self-explanatory. Nwfisch, this thread has a purpose, #1 overall pick is a big thing. And of course it is L-W not W-L because L's are what you want in this scenario, and I figured that was self-explanatory since I was talking about the 2nd overall pick and being in second place.

Loss-Win Record based on the official standings:

1. Cubs (29-15)
2. Minnesota (28-15)
3. San Diego (29-16)
4. Colorado (27-16)
5. Kansas City (26-17)
6. Milwaukee (26-18)
7. LA Angels (25-20)
8. Diamondbacks (25-20)
9. Pirates (24-20)
10. Mariners (25-21)

Top 10 picks are protected under the new CBA.

Now watch the Cubs go on a 10 game winning streak, miss the playoffs anyway, and piss us off even more :D

So if they do finish in bottom 10 (99% sure to happen) is that great time to get a big FA?

The big FA would only cost a second-rounder then so I think they could afford to do that for sure. Just whether they want to or not.

BTW, since the Twins didn't win last night, THEY have the #1 pick for the moment due to the previous season records tiebreaker.

Anyway, International Draft supposed to start in 2014, I don't like it :smh:
