Default Three point trolls. Fantasy Association

I made this joke team a few months ago and thought I'd share with you guys.

Essentially...it's a team of mostly three point shooters. I jack up 40-50 3s a game and pretty much live or die by the 3. Many lolz are had. I've only played about 4 games with them since I made it though. Probably going to do more this summer.

Let's see if my poorly constructed team does better than Fisch.

    Bulls win big over Nets

Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls defeated Lebron James and the New Jersey Nets. The Bulls were led by Rose's 36 points, including 5 3 pointers. Jason Richardson added 23 points and another 5 3 pointers for the Bulls. Lebron had 26 for the Nets. When asked about the win Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau still seemed discontent after the win saying, "We committed way too many turnovers which led to easy baskets for them on the other end. Gerald needs to learn to slow down sometimes, Lebron was able to catch him off guard too often." The Bulls forward flirted with a triple double, getting 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists, but also committed 6 turnovers. "Hey, we won the game and we won big. Yeah I gotta cut down on the turnovers, but when you win by 20, I don't think it's that big a deal," said Wallace. This win marks the 6th in a row for the surging Bulls, who are 6-0 to start the season.

    Bulls get another huge win

The Bulls left the UC upbeat after a 27 point win against the New York Knicks. Jason Richardson led the Bulls with another 24 point performance with 5 3 pointers. Derrick Rose had 20 points and 9 assists. "I was really happy about the way we cut down our turnovers from the last game. Our defense was pretty good as well, we got a lot of transition baskets out of that. I'm hoping we can do more of that in the future." said Coach Tom Thibodeau. The only downside to the Bulls' dominate win was the injury of forward Gerald Wallace who sustained a twisted ankle and is day to day with the injury. "Y'all are overreacting," said Wallace. "I'm good to go. Heck, I might even be fully healthy by the next game. Don't sweat it. Even if it was serious, we have a deep team. We have a ton of guys that can step up off the bench."

"We're just balling right now and having a lot of fun," said Rose after the game. "We got a group that just wants to go out there and win games. Our chemistry is great, everyone's having fun together on and off the court. It's great to see."

Rumor: Bulls looking to bring Linsanity to Chicago?

There have been rumors swirling around that Chicago has been thinking of acquiring guard Jeremy Lin of the Dallas Mavericks. Most rumors indicate Chicago swapping backup PG Andre Miller and possibly a draft pick for the Harvard grad. The move would be an upgrade for Chicago, but it doesn't make much sense. Lin would be moving from a starting role in Dallas, where he is averaging 15 points and 7 assists, to a backup role in Chicago.

"We are always looking at moves to improve our team," said Bulls GM Gar Foreman. "Jeremy has shown he's the real deal in this league and he's playing great in Dallas right now. However, we don't see an immediate need to make this kind of deal. We're happy with the team as is. That said, if the right offer is on the table, we would have to consider it."

The move might be considered a bad locker room move by the Bulls front office. Miller is one of the locker room favorites on the roster.

"He's just a great guy to be around," said Bulls guard Derrick Rose. "He's really been a mentor to me this year. He's got a ton of experience and a lot of skill. He's really helped me improve my passing game. I'd be sad to see him go, but Jeremy is a great guy as well. I'd love to play with him." Rose is averaging a career high 31 points and 8.7 assists this season.

The rest of the Bulls roster seems to echo Rose's feelings about Miller.

"He's one of my best friends on the team," said Arron Afflalo. "We played together back in Denver so I've had a few years alongside him now. He's a great guy and an awesome teammate. I'd hate to see him go."

"I love his sense of humor off the court," said Jason Richardson. "Dude seems pretty quiet at first, but once he gets comfortable he's the life of the party sometimes. The idea of playing with JLin is interesting though. He was a stud in New York and now he's really balling it up in Dallas right now. He could definitely fit in as well."

"He always freaking beats me in poker on plane rides," said Kyle Korver. "It's infuriating, but that's just a reflection of how smart he is, on and off the court." When asked about Jeremy Lin, Korver simply responded, "I wouldn't expect anything different from a Harvard grad. Heck, he might beat me even worse."

The Bulls have dramatically increased their three point shooting this year, loading their roster with shooters while also having several players who can play good defense in addition to their offensive abilities. Miller seems to be a little out of the mold since he lacks an outside jumper, but his defense and passing have been key to running the Bulls bench mob this year. He is averaging a career low 5 points per game and 4 assists in 19 minutes off the bench.

"He's our leader off the bench," said coach Tom Thibodeau. "He runs the offense perfectly most times. Sure, he's not a dynamic scorer, but he can create great looks for others and when you have a team constructed like ours, great looks are almost guaranteed points."

Jeremy Lin was unavailable for comment.

Bulls win 9th straight in narrow win over Cleveland

The Cavs tried their hardest, but couldn't overcome the Bulls as the Bulls went on to win their 9th straight in a 109-104 victory. Derrick Rose had 26 points and 10 assists, continuing his dominating performances and adding to his MVP bid. Richardson chipped in with his 3rd straight game with 5 3 pointers, finishing with 19 points. Eric Gordon had 33 for the Cavs. For a stretch it seemed like a shootout between Gordon and Rose with each player relentlessly attacking the other. Gordon finished with more points, but Rose came out with the win. "It's always fun playing against a player like Eric," said Rose. "He's a great player and can really fill it up, but fortunately my teammates were able to help me get the win." The Bulls had 4 players in double figures with many of their points coming off assists from Rose. "He was superb tonight with his court vision," said Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. "He could've chosen to get into a scoring contest with Gordon, but he made the right choices and set up his teammates well. And when you factor in assists, he won the matchup anyway." The only mark on the Bulls' victory tonight was the horrible performance of Gerald Wallace leaving questions as to whether his ankle is fully healed. "It's all good y'all," said Wallace after the game. "I was just off today. I missed a lot of shots I normally make and in my opinion I got cheated out of some free throws on my drives to the basket. I'll come back strong the next game." The Bulls forward finished 3 for 17 on the night. The Bulls also continued their hot shooting from 3 point land, making 41% of their 3s on the night. "When a team can shoot like they can...it's hard to defend. And when you have a guy who can penetrate like Rose and Wallace, we have to either give up an easy layup or give up the 3. It's a lose-lose situation." said Cavalier's coach Byron Scott.

    Bulls extend forward Boris Diaw

The Bulls announced today that they have extended forward Boris Diaw's contract for another 2 years with a player option to return for a third year. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"It's great to be here in Chicago," said Diaw. "I love it here, I love this team, I love the fans, I feel like we have something special going on here. Hopefully I can help bring the championship trophy back to Chicago."

"We're really pleased to know that we're going to have Boris on board for the next few years," said Bulls GM Gar Foreman. "He's a big part of what we do with his contributions off the bench offensively and defensively."

Diaw is averaging 8 points on 52% shooting from the field as well as 46% shooting from 3 point land in 15 minutes off the bench for the Bulls this year.

Bulls top Power Rankings for 17 straight weeks

The NBA.com Power Rankings were released today and it was no surprised who sat at the top: the undefeated Chicago Bulls, who stand at 9-0 going into the All Star break.

"Quite simply put, they're beasting the league right now," said Kevin Garnett. "When you construct a team like they did, you're a little skeptical, but they've shown us that they know what they're doing."

Indeed it is an oddly constructed team. No true inside scoring presence, a huge reliance on the 3 point shot off of drive and kicks from Derrick Rose and backup PG Andre Miller, but it's worked almost flawlessly for the Bulls, who as a team are shooting near 40% on the season from 3.

"I'm marveling at their team chemistry right now," said TNT analyst Kenny Smith. "When you have a team that works together as well as they do, it's no wonder they're playing great basketball."

The Bulls are tops in the league in assists so far this season with an average of about 25 per game, led by Derrick Rose's 8.6 assists. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, a known defensive minded coach still sticks to this mentality and credits defense, not superb offense, for their success.

"It all starts on the defensive end," says Thibodeau. "We have guys who play great defense every possession. Serge and Tyson are doing a fantastic job this year of helping out and getting those weak side blocks. Gerald is a fantastic defender. Derrick's making huge strides on the defensive end this year as well. Then when the bench comes in we got guys like Arron and Boris who can come in and lock down their guys."

Ibaka and Chandler are combining for nearly 6 blocks per game, a staggering number.

"When you can lock down teams in the paint like that and secure rebounds, it allows us to get easy points in transition." continued Thibodeau.

Sure enough, the Bulls average around 24 fastbreak points per game, a number reminiscent of the Miami Heat during the tenure of the Big Three.

"We all know our spots once we get in transition," said Gerald Wallace. "It's either an outlet to Derrick or myself when we're in the game and we're looking for each other or JRich spotting up in the corner. We're a pretty fast group so we can usually get a score for one of the three of us. And if we get Tyson or Serge running with us, it's lob city baby!"

"I don't usually get to throw so many lobs," laughed Rose. "Yeah getting out in transition is a lot of fun. These guys definitely know what to do on the break.

Nudging Wallace, Rose continued, "I'm just waiting for the day that I get to be on the receiving end of a lob instead of throwing it."

Things are looking good in the Windy City for the near future, but there's a lot of season left to play. But the Bulls are confident in their ability to secure the best record in the league yet again.

"We're just balling," said Tyson Chandler. "A'int no stopping us. We're not gonna let up. Like the late Norm Van Lier used to say '48 minutes of intensity' that's what it's all about. We're gonna show the league what's up."

Bulls keep rolling; dominate Pacers 121-100

There's just no stopping the Bulls right now. They shot a blistering 47% from 3 and 51% overall as they torched the Pacers for their 9th straight win.

"The way they were jacking them up, it was like they were trolling us or something..." said Pacers guard Steve Nash. "I'll hand it to them for knocking them down though. They're a great team and they make a lot of ridiculous shots sometimes which just makes it that much harder for us."

It was another rough night for Gerald Wallace who scored 16 points, but shot 6 for 17 on the night. "You know...I'm not sure how I'm not getting some of these calls down low. I know it's an away game and all, but come on...the hacking down there is ridiculous. The way I see it, I should've been 6 for 12." said Wallace after the game. This marks the second time in two games that Wallace has complained about the officiating. Whether or not the league responds with a fine is still unknown.

On the flip side, it was a great game offensively for forward Serge Ibaka who scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Interestingly, he did not record a block on the night.

"I tried to block some shots, but it just wasn't there tonight," said Ibaka. "Even though I didn't get a block we're still in there intimidating, getting strips, deflecting passes. With me and Tyson there, teams are scared to come inside."

The Bulls were up by as many as 30 points going into the 4th when the Pacers tried to make a run and almost cut the lead to single digits before the Bulls got a hold of themselves and pulled away.

"We were playing sloppy basketball in the beginning of the quarter," said coach Thibodeau. "We only had 3 turnovers going into the quarter and committed 6 in that quarter alone. That's unacceptable."

"We were joking around too much I guess," said guard Arron Afflalo. "Guys were trying to throw alley oops that weren't totally there and the Pacers were able to get a few steals that way."

"I really wanted to see JRich show us some old school JRich or see Gerald throw it down," said Derrick Rose regarding the numerous alley oop attempts. "We were up by 30 and decided to have a little fun. Unfortunately it didn't turn out exactly as we wanted."

The Bulls did, however, complete 3 alley oops to Serge Ibaka on the break.

"I've been telling him to get his butt out on transition," said Richardson. "He was able to do that and that's half the reason he scored so many points tonight. He's usually too busy blocking shots to get out and run I guess."

The 9-0 Bulls topped the power rankings yet again.

In case anyone was curious this was the team I started with

    PG-Rose
    SG-Eric Gordon
    SF-Jason Richardson
    PF-Luis Scola
    C-Tyson Chandler

    Bench
    Andre Miller
    Andres Nocioni
    Boris Diaw
    Channing Frye
    Ersan Illyasova
    Kyle Korver
    Matt Bonner

How I got to what I have now...

    Traded Scola for Stephen Jackson
Traded Eric Gordon and Jackson for Gerald Wallace and Serge Ibaka
    Traded Nocioni for Arron Afflalo

    Trade rationale:
Why I traded Eric Gordon: I couldn't shoot with him. Plain and simple. He was shooting horrible whenever I used him, so I let him go. Got a huge upgrade defensively and a true starting SF in Wallace. I can't shoot with Wallace either apparently, but at least sometimes I get lucky. With Gordon I missed everything.

Why I traded Scola: I wanted another three point shooter.

Why I traded Jackson: He sucks. I shot probably 4-25 with him in 2 games.

Why I traded Noce: Afflalo is better. And his shot release is weird.

Bulls win big against the Hawks

It was another dominant game by the Bulls against one of the more star studded teams in the NBA. Who would've thought on a night where Derrick Rose stuggled that the Bulls would still be able to pull out a win, and a big one at that, against a Hawks team led by Chris Paul and Dirk Nowitzki? Indeed it was a night to forget for Rose, who finished with 16 points and 9 assists, but only shot 5 for 16 and committed 7 turnovers.

"I'm not sure what happened out there," said Rose. "I usually play really well against CP3, but I guess he was able to contain me for once."

Rose managed to do his share defensively, holding Paul to 3 of 11 shooting and 12 points, but the masterful point guard had 11 assists with only one turnover. The Hawks were led by Dirk's 29 points with Rodney Stuckey chipping in 20 and Trevor Ariza adding 17 of his own for the Hawks. The Bulls, however, countered Rose's struggles with excellent team play. 7 players finished in double figures for the Bulls, led by Jason Richardson's 21 points with 6 3s, who as a team amassed 29 assists and dominated the glass with 54 rebounds.

"We're a team, first and foremost," said center Tyson Chandler, who had 13 points and 9 rebounds to go with 2 blocks on the night. "A lot of people like to focus on Derrick, but we have a lot of guys on this team who can score, and it really showed tonight."

Serge Ibaka, who had no blocks in the previous game, made up for it with 4 blocks.

"It felt nice to get my hand on a few shots," said Ibaka. "Blocking a Dirk fadeaway? That has to be up there on my list of favorite blocks. Not an easy thing to do by any means."

Coach Thibodeau wasn't completely satisfied with his team's performance, but was happy to take the win.

"Any time you commit that many turnovers in a game, it's going to make you cringe a little, but a win's a win. I was really proud of the team offensively for taking the load off of Derrick. I feel like he was trying to do too much out there against Chris and it backfired. Fortunately, he's not our only playmaker on the team. We got guys like Andre and Gerald who we can run offense through. Tyson and Ibaka took advantage of some lazy defense down low and were able to get a few dunks. The bench came in and gave us a spark as well, it was a solid game all around if you take away the turnovers."

The 10-0 Bulls will take their undefeated record to Boston to face the 2nd seeded Celtics.
