Here's an article from before Theo's hire by the Cubs:

Theo Epstein’s Transaction History with the Boston Red Sox

With the Google doc of all his transactions:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...DEzMVVET29UMDRGZTVGc2Vvbjk0Y0E&hl=en_US#gid=0

Epstein officially took over as Red Sox GM at the end of 2002. He's not infallible but the track record kind of speaks for itself even if you believe that a blueprint of success was just handed to him.

He made some really good moves. Theres no doubt about that. But he put the final pieces together in BOS. He didnt have to rebuild the team like he does in Chicago. Its 2 totall different circumstances. My point is we know Theo can put the final pieces together but can he rebuild an organization. We will find out

Do you understand how much he changed the Red Sox between 02-04 and 04-07? because I don't think you do.

He doesn't, even though it has been explained to him already

I agree he brought in the right pieces. Im not saying he didnt. For FT to think that he rebuilt the team is just :turrible: He never had to rebuild an organization. He just had to bring in the last pieces and maintain the team. FT till you learn baseball please for everyone here just leave
Again. The roster change over speaks for itself. Especially from the 2004 to 2007 teams.

You can ignore the changed rosters and all the acquisitions listed all you want but it doesn't make you look any less stupid.
Typical FT thinking he knows anything about baseball. Taking over a 93 win team is rebuilding? No wonder his name is First timer. Everything he talks about he acts like its his first time
Lame diatribe is lame.

So far the only person to agree with you in this thread is one of the biggest retards on the board.

Congrats.

Theo didnt have to build core.
Wrong.

Already pointed this out.

Boston won 93 games the year before theo got there.

which had:
pedro

damon
manny

1. Had his worst season since like 1996 the year they won.
2. Traded by the time the Sox won the WS.

Everyone is available, but I doubt any team offers what the Cubs would want for Castro.

PLEASE Theo, whatever you do, DON'T trade Castro. He led the NL in hits at age 21, think of what he'll be like in his prime. It would be ridiculous to trade him

Just because he's putting that possibility out there to get a feel for the market doesn't mean he pulls the trigger unless it's a hell of a return.

If Castro is traded, I might die. So they should listen to me as being near-death makes me old, and d3a's Book of Business says to always make decisions with pleasing the elderly as as the primary goal.

That said, we would gt one hell of a return, no matter how sad it would be to see him go.
