Friendly cap hit for a guy that knows his role and performs well in it. Nothing to dislike about this, imo.

Cap hits include signing bonuses. Think of the way teams could circumvent the cap if they didn't. We'd have the 49ers of the NHL.

And if he gets hurt then it looks stupid. Any signing of a guy who had nothing in the tank is a stupid signing. It's a roll of the die; obviously they think he had enough in the tank or he will be a depth signing and will play sporadically. We'll see how it turns out; it's not like he's burning s monster hole in team's available cap space. He surely looked good during the season.
The re-signing does indicate his "healthy" scratches in the end of the postseason was nothing personal.

For 600 grand I don't have a problem with this. He's a fourth line kind of guy, he'll hit, he scores occasionally, and he knows his role with the team. This isn't awful.
