Rumor is that Red Sox are also interested. Bidding war for Garza could certainly up the amount the Cubs get for him.

The Red Sox wouldn't help that much in the bidding war, tho. Their farm system has been wiped out for the most part.

The threat of the Red Sox making a move has been known to make the Yankees do crazy things. The Sox system is one of the weaker of all the teams interested in Garza, but more clubs wanting him only makes his stock higher.

Maybe the Cubs can get a trade of Betances/Banuelos/Hughes for Garza, Wells and a PTBNL. That would be awesome and I would be all over it, but Garza needs to pitch better.

The Phils could have interest in Garza too.

This was my first thought after reading the article too.

Waldo, why on earth do you want Hughes, he's a free agent isn't he?

Again just think it is fun that "trolling" here is okay but not there.

He's a free agent in 2014, this off-season he'll be in his final year of arbitration.

I say take a flyer on Hughes, he has a great potential and I think he'll do good in the NL.

just responding to waldo.

The Yanks will have to offer a package like that or he'll stay in Chicago and sing an extension. I'm totally fine with that and just trade them Dempster then.
