Re: Dickey vs. Wang, from Calcaterra:

Wang wasn’t quite as hard on opposing hitters, allowing eight hits over five and a third. He allowed only two runs, but in a close game like this with his pitcher running out of stamina, Johnson had to pull Wang.

It's too bad the Padres suck so much or else the Cubs would have the #1 pick by now. But I'd much rather the Giants win the NL West than the Dodgers :D

Bryce Harper HR in Fenway. Per @GordonEdes, last 19 yr olds to do that: Mickey Mantle, Al Kaline, Robin Yount. #Nationals #RedSox

Great list right there

Great list right there

I think it was Bill James who put together the list but basically the guys that establish themselves as starters before their 20th birthday have all gone on to be at least well above average players.

Indications are that the R Sox could be parting ways with Marlon Byrd. Doesn't look like he's going to make it back to Wrigley next weekend.

Sad to hear

#RedSox from @IanMBrowne: Marlon Byrd to be DFA'd to make room for Dice-K on roster.

Hopefully he gets picked up by someone

Only teams not to be shut out yet this season:

Tigers - lost to Reds, but scored
Indians - beat the Cards
Giants - haven't scored yet...

The Marlon Byrd experiment is over in Boston. He was designated for assignment.

It is sad to think that Hunter Cervenka (sp?) might turn out to be the most meaningful piece for either side in that trade.

Apparently they are sending him down to AAA following the start to start stretching him back out to be a starter.

Cashner isn't dialing it back in his start. Still throwing 99 mph gas.
