Sherman again

#Yankees thought #Reds overpaid for Chapman/#A's for Cespedes. So I expected they'd be somewhat cautious on Soler. #Cubs most aggressive

Goldstein:
Source told me last night that he didn't think the Cubs had a ''choke point" on Soler, and would one-up any bid until he was theirs.

Goldstein on cost:
That would surprise me. RT @jeffpaternostro: @Kevin_Goldstein You think it could have gotten to 30 million then?

Hope the Yankees didn't play Theo like they did when Boston signed Carl Crawford. Not that we knew Crawford was gonna slump, of course.

If this is true, Peoria is going to be mighty fun to watch in a few weeks would be my guess. Hold out hope for by June 28th area because that is when Peoria will be on MiLB.tv again.

I'm waiting for one of two things to happen:
1) It is announced the Cubs signed him for 27 million which would start the conspiracy theories that these sealed bids was just a smokescreen to help the Cubs avoid getting in trouble.

2)A stern denial from Jed Hoyer that the Cubs have reached any deal, and that this drags on for another couple weeks.

About damn time. Hopefully he can show the same promise that Cespedes has shown with the A's whenever he reaches the big leagues
