Doug Murray makes Andrew Brunnette's speed look like Stalberg.

Murray is exactly the type of Dman that the Blackhawks need. He is a tough SOB to play again.

John Scott was real tough, too.

I don't care how tough a guy is to play against if he's going to be an orange cone in the defensive zone for opposing players to skate around all the time.

The Carle suggestion, I liked. Murray? Not so much.

Completely different.

Murray is a solid defenseman and is a tough SOB to play against. He can play the game of hockey and positively contributes with his hockey play.

Murray cannot skate. He'd get torched in the Hawks D zone.

I'd rather have Lepisto.

#Blackhawks have placed 25-year-old goalie Alexander Salak on waivers.

Well that's obvious move 1 happening. Salak may of been able to be a quality backup and earn a call up if he didn't get all pissy about winding up still in the AHL with a crummy young team.

Yea, just about everyone saw that coming. Pretty unfortunate as most analysts loved the Frolik/Skille trade for the Blackhawks because Salak was included and was a solid goaltending prospect (which the Blackhawks could use big time).

EDIT: Especially considering last time the Blackhawks had a prospect "thrown in" it turned out to be Nick Leddy.

Hawks are in serious need of goaltending help in their system. Could be the 1st-round pick.

Well it was a steal still.. what was the Hawks end? Skille, Hugh Jennsmen, and Pacan? Garbage.. the sad part is how mistreated.

It seemed the Emery choice over Salak was smart, he was cheaper and experienced and Salak could get more playing time still... Seemed like the good long term deal, and yet now it looks awful. Maybe Salak wouldn't of sucked and played as good or better than Emery and we could have him as the backup again or not have an overpaid Emerey. :`(

Neither of them will go.. the question is do they waive Rusty Olsez, keep him, or Rockford him another year of that deal.

That makes me remember a great question...where in the world is Kim Johnsson?

Bingo. I did a quick write up on it that is on page 2 of this thread.

If Subban is there, I don't see how the Blackhawks pass him.

Vasilevski has the talent to go around pick 18, but will the Russian factor scare teams off?

The other goalie prospect to consider is Dansk and I have seen him going/ranked anywhere from 15th overall (in terms of all players F/D/G) to 40th overall.

I really don't know if the Blackhawks will be actively looking to trade Bickell just because of the ridiculously low cap hit that he has.

Frolik...I also have no idea on. The Blackhawks would like to get out from under that cap hit but I just can't get a sense of what they will do.

I think right now the players on the trade block from the Blackhawks roster (in order) are...

1. Hjalmarsson
2. Montador
3. Frolik

After that, I don't think the Blackhawks will be actively pursuing a trade with any player unless it puts them in a better position and is brought up by another team.

I do NOT think Bolland will be traded based on the reports (that seem to be true) that Q will have more say on his roster. I believe Q is a big Bolland fan from every interview I have ever seen him do that involves Bolland.

Dont know if trading montador right now is smart...let him prove his health then trade him around the deadline

I don't think Montador gets traded, I just think the Blackhawks would like to trade him. Of course that is made almost impossible with his injury. The cap hit just isn't what it should be for what would be the Blackhawks #6 dman.

I'd be surprised if we saw any big trades this offseason...which will just make it sweeter if one happens that improves the team.

Any team that trades for Montador this offseason needs to have their GM's head checked, it would have be just as questionable as Montador.

I was fearful he was being pushed into that game to early. He looked pretty good out there until he took that big hit. Instantly that was a collective sigh oh, well he's done for the year.
