He's quietly batting .280 with 12 HR and 41 RBI. The #s aren't what his contract says they should be, but they're still good.

The Cubs have stated they're willing to eat a large portion of the contract...

So, can we unload Sori this season?

What say you, CCS?

I think it does because it seems like all the ingredients are in place. Sori is hitting well. There are a bunch of AL teams that could use a power bat. Cubs are supposedly willing to eat the vast majority of dough.

I think they'll eat most of the deal and get a lower level guy back (Class-A or something). You cant really expect much.

yeah, I don't think they expect to get much of anything back...but if they can get rid of him while only eating half his contract or so, it's a "win"...

I'm sure there are AL GMs salivating over Soriano's performance as a DH in Minnesota....so, yes. He gets traded. Soon.

The Orioles have always made the most sense of any team. The Indians need a power bat too, but the fact that Pronk is limited to DH takes them out of the running in my mind.

2 things

1) He will have to be traded SOON. There is no way you take a chance on his knee.

2) anyone thinking half of salary will be eaten is insane. 80% at the least will be eaten with shit back.

I would jump for joy if they could get 20% of the deal covered. Most of the talk has seemed to have been 95% and shit back.

95% is a bit much to pay for him to GTFO.

They have to be very careful that he doesnt fuck up that knee. he has to go soon.

I agree, but that is what the talk has been that I've read and heard.

I think they want to send the 95% money only if the prospect coming back isn't complete shit.
