Sveum should just bat the lefties since all the righties seem to suck

That's fucking weird...Collmenter (RHP) pitching for Saunders yet Sveum didn't change his lineup. Must have been a switcheroo right at the lineup exchange?

Yeah it sounds like the D'Backs just did it at the last moment or otherwise Sveum decided it didn't matter or he doesn't care anymore.

Racking up the strikeouts and limiting the walks, which is nice to see. Bummer about the home run though.

Samardzija should probably stop throwing batting practice.

That's something I worried a lot about Smardie moving to the rotation. He had a terrible walk rate. As long as you strike guys out a lot, you can kind of get away with walks as a RP. But, eventually the walks will hurt you as a SP... especially when you're kind of prone to giving up the HR now and then. He's been sharp mostly, but it's been the walks that have hurt him in his few rough starts.

He's also not getting the velocity tonight...pitches catching way too much of the happy zone.

Interesting. Clevenger pinch-hitting, guess they'll wait for men on base before they use LaHair.
