Nash for Kane straight up is not a fair trade. Hawks lose.

< Waits for homer accusations >

Kane's 23. Nash is 28.
Kane's cap hit is $6.3 million. Nash is at $7.8 million.
In their best seasons, using Dewey's favorite stat of OPS, Kane had an 8.1 while Nash had a 7.9.

Adding those factors together, Kane's trade value > Nash's trade value

  3. Illinois-Chicago Flames
  4. Loyola Ramblers
  5. Northern Illinois Huskies
  6. Northwestern Wildcats
But then teams can also hold intangibles over our head

Kane's Drunk Value > Nash's Drunk Value, with Drunk Value being a negative intangible in trade negotiations.

Nash also hasn't had any other good players on his line, while Kane gets Hossa or Toews.

nash all day long. a bigger physical skilled player with more to his game than kane. this is a player that the hawks have needed for the last 2 seasons.

you do realize you are comparing 2 different players on 2 different teams. Of course nashs numbers may not be the best, but pretty damn good for the team he has been playing for.

Nash is a pimp but those 5 years are a factor. What's he gonna be like at 33? Kane will be a fully grown man with all his adult muscle in a few years, and Nash has physically peaked.

I'm all for a Nash like player, and I'm okay with trading Kane if the deal is right, but I wouldn't do that particular swap.

Yeah, I'd pass on that. Nash is very overrated.

Kane isn't being shopped.

Nash not going to Blackhawks.

Bowman talked to GM of CBJ about Nash and said that the asking price was way too high. Not going to happen.
