Bickel is one of the few players who played to his paygrade last year... sadly true because he should be outplaying that deal. I would think the ability to make real money in this contract year could give him a boost and reason to play physical. I'd let him walk after that.

Staal said he would not sign an extension with any team he was traded to, and that he'd test free agency after the next season no matter which team he was on.

Wonder if that'll change since he's skating with his brother now.
