I've heard so many conflicting rumors about who is and is not on his list that I've lost track.

Supposedly the Blackhawks are on Nash's list for a team he would accept a trade too.
I don't know many teams who are going to touch Staal right now after the reported 10 year deal that he turned down...unless they are the team he is definitely going to re-sign with and the team knows it ahead of time.

His cap hit is .542M If it is a trade that improves the Blackhawks, sure...but to trade him just to trade him (which is what it seems you mean) wouldn't be smart.
Even though he's cheap, he's not worth the frustration that comes with seeing him show up around 5 times a year and phoning it in the other 75. He can go away.
