Do bonuses count against cap?

All at once, or divided throughout contract?

A signing bonus is paid all at once to the player; however, it terms of the salary cap, the cap hit is the annual average value (aav) of the contract (including bonuses).

Alright, that makes more sense. Thanks.

That's for standard contracts. Teams can play a little bit with the salary cap with entry level contracts' bonuses.

And he's reduced it to 12 mil instead of 14.

Sassone RT'ed that Parise is going to talk to his fiancee today, but they haven't had that conversation yet

Chicago Possibilty for Suter as Well? (E4)
"From a source, "Coach Q lobbied for Suter in Chi... More so than Parise." I am told however the monstrous deal for Parise comes all the way from the top.."

So ... what that actually means is Haviland was the one lobbying for Suter over Parise and "all the way from the top" means that one of the peanut vendors in section 321 came up with the monstrous deal for Parise. Got it.

The way people at work have been talking, I thought it was a lock the Wild would get both of these guys. Jumping the gun a bit perhaps.

Parise would put asses in the seats and be great to watch, but this team needs Suter way more than it does another forward.

You know, if we really wanted another forward, for a million and a half I think I'd have taken a shot at Taylor Pyatt. He's huge, he has scored, he was the #8 pick in the draft a while back, and how many times are you going to miss an entire season with injury and how often is your fiance going to get killed in a car wreck in Jamaica? I'm guessing his best days are ahead and he's a bargain at a million and a half.

Still wish we'd have signed Parenteau though if we wanted another forward. He was a bargain at 4. Just two fewer points than Parise and half the price. Would have given us room for a stud defender. Oh well...

So if Suter and Parise team up, would you guys view the team they join as evil?

Like the Miami Heat?
