Since everyone else that's totally cool does this shit, I figured I would while I'm bored on summer nights. I did a fantasy draft of the Bears in Madden 11. And I'll be sharing my adventures with the team throughout.

PS. I suck at Madden so this is going to be interesting.

FIRST PRESEASON GAME

Bears Defense Falls Short, but not as Bad as Bears Offense
Led by Tom Brady, the Bears offense threw three interceptions in the first half of the game. Brady was off his game and completely sucked. Welker and White both had remarkable catches, but those catches were not enough for the Bears offense to score more than once. And that one score was a field goal.
The Bears defense also sucked. Allowing 47 points against a not so great Chargers offense.
It's obvious that this preseason game was just the start of the bad things to come for the Bears as none of the players were on the same page at all and every part of the game sucked. The Bears will hope to fix their kinks in the next three preseason games before they move on to the regular season. Winning the NFC North isn't out of the question, but the Bears don't look like they can do it right now.

Bears lose second preseason game

The Bears offense was better than it was in the previous preseason game as the Bears lose 44-20 to the Raiders. The Bears offense had 203 yards total and 169 of that was passing yards. Both Welker and Cooley had great games receiving the ball from Brady. Marshawn Lynch got more carries than in the previous game and rushed for 16 yards. The defense for the Bears wasn't in terrible shape, but seemed to fall apart in the second half of the game. The one bright spot in the second half of the game was Terrell Suggs interception that he returned for 96 yards and a touchdown. Brady threw the other two Bears touchdowns, but failed in the 2 point conversion for one of them. The Bears are getting better, but still have a long way to go. They will try to get all the kinks out before heading into the regular season when they have to face tough division opponents like the Packers and Lions. Tom Brady can lead the team to a division title and possibly more, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Bears Get Closer to a Win. Still Lose

The Bears played a good game and had a great first half. The defense was lacking as the Cardinals were able to score some touchdowns in the first half, but the offense in the first half was fantastic. Brady was finally hitting his receivers and had a couple great plays to Roddy White. White had 4 receptions for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brady was really connecting with him in this game. Just as in the last game, the run game was brought into the game more which allowed the passing game to excell. Lynch had 7 carries for 24 yards in the first half, and Peterson had 12 carries for 26 yards in the second half. The run game will probably slowly be brought into each game more and more and help make the Bears offense stronger. This game was a step in the right direction, but was still not a win. If the starters had been out there for the entire game, I think the Bears might have won. There is still work to be done. The Bears lost this game on a field goal by the Cardinals in the final thirty seconds of the game. There is one preseason game remaining and the Bears will look to win that game to help them have momentum going into the start of the regular season. Don't count this team out of anything yet.

Bears Destroyed by Browns in Final Preseason Game

The Bears defense got demolished in this game, but the offense wasn't much better. The final score was 72-14. Brady threw two interceptions and Losman threw three. Not a great job by either quarterback. Just as in the past weeks, the running game was included more. Lynch had 18 yards on 9 attempts and Peterson had 12 yards on 6 attempts. The run game will have to be brought into the Bears offense even more if they want to succeed.

Nothing really seemed to go right for the Bears in this game. They played terrible defense, but there were quite a few touchdowns scored by turnovers and silly things. Two touchdowns in a row were achieved by a pick 6 and a fumble on the kickoff returned for a touchdown. This put the Bears no where near being able to win the game and from then on the game got out of control.

This was the final preseason game. It wasn't a great way for the Bears to head into the regular season as they will have tougher opponents inside their division. The offense and defense will both have to improve if the Bears want any chance at winning the division or even getting into the playoffs. Right now it looks like the Bears are a 5 win team in the regular season. That has to change.

Bears Lose First Game in OT

The Bears had a bad first half despite a good first 5 minutes in the game. Brady seemed to be back to his old self in those first five minutes and the Bears were up 7-3 to start the game. Things got bad after that as Brady ended up throwing three interceptions in the first half. One of those was taken back for a touchdown. The Bears looked like they would lose the game.

In the second half a miracle happened and the Bears were able to overcome the deficit to take a 3 point lead with a little over a minute left. The Lions would strike back with a good drive and kick a field goal to tie the game and send it to overtime with about two seconds left in the game. Overtime was bad for the Bears as they failed to even get in field goal range. The Lions scored on an Adrian Peterson run on the first play of their drive.

The Bears lost 32-26. They will need to come back stronger against their next opponent. A bright spot is that with each game they have gotten better and they look to get even better next week and somehow scrap out a win.
