so glad ozzie is gone.

I haven't really paid much attention to Ventura's managerial skills. What are your thoughts on him so far? He seemed like a guy that knows the game while he played, but he had 0 coaching experience.

I was really hoping they'd be facing zambrano. I'd love to see this lineup light up that hot-headed prick and send him out of Wrigley to a chorus of boos before a fistfight in the dugout with ozzie. :smug:

exceeding expectations. he still misused our loogy ohman as did ozzie and he has made some moves that are questionable. but nothing crazy. the team defense is so much better than it was when ozzie was here. for a guy with zero management experience he looks ok, not lost like how i thought he would be.

If LaHair can make contact, he might get a LaHomer too.

That would be nice to see. I would like to see him getting going again and level off at that 800 plateau.

While it probably would have been unpleasant on many levels, I'm disappointed that Big Z won't be pitching this series.

Certainly became a longer inning than expected after the first two hitters, but still a nice first inning of work.

Yeah Rizzo hit it hard, but on the ground. The anxiousness of Rizzo is starting to be a little concerning since he does seem to be first pitch swinging a lot, but whatever I guess if he is putting up these numbers.

I think there will be adjustments both from Rizzo and from the pitchers throwing to him. It'll fix itself over time.

I'm annoyed with the lack of effort Sanchez needed to get out of that inning.
