Yeah, hitting below .240..man what a stud.

Which doesn't matter because the other players who are supposed to be better should make up for the fact that he isn't that great of a hitter.

Who would you suggest? And if you say Hudson you are an idiot because a .240 avg > .150 avg

Checked my phone after work and I am furious.

This one is on Robin. Thornton CANNOT close out a 9th inning. Even when he was at his peak.

Wrong time to be blowing shit with Detroit hot as they are.

Robin cannot handle a pen, wtf, Cooper has been around long enough to know Thornton will shit himself in the 9th.

:obama:

Idiots.

It isn't irrelevant. It is just one piece of a much larger puzzle that some refuse to look at.

Personally, I think its only really usefull in sample sizes, like Oh, so-and-so is bating .435 this month, or .100 vs left handed pitching or whatever.

But, everyone is free to use stats at their own desecration.

Really I think that is the least useful way to use batting average, but yes everyone is free to use stats the way they want.

What do you think its best for? Just curious, not trying to pick a fight.

I think the full seasons worth of average data are the most useful. I don't really use batting average by itself, but it is useful to know the frequency a player gets hits because a hit is worth more than a walk. I generally like to look at a player's slash line to give me an idea of roughly what that player's baseline abiltiies are.

I'd rather discuss Robin's shitty decisions than declare myself a winner.
