That guy on BleacherNation gets a lot of cred if Garza does go in a Lee plus deal.

Garza is not going to pitch until Mondy at the earliest. We have gotten so fucked in the past couple of days in terms of the two pieces that were going to help restock the system.

I don't think a Garza trade is dead. I still believe he will be dealt to an AL team this week.

Dempster did screw things up a bit.

Nope, just the normal "interest" blurbs. Probably closer to Tuesday you'll see Twitter explode again.

Notta. The Cubs FO is pretty tightlipped about everything, and so I wouldn't be shocked if the Cubs had a lot of talks with the Jays and others about Garza that we haven't heard about.

The last I heard today was from Morosi, that the Cubs are still talking to suitors about a possible Garza trade.

According to Bruce Levine's last chat:
In exchange for Garza and Darwin Barney, the Cubs were asking the Tigers for Nick Castellanos AND Jacob Turner AND Drew Smyly – indeed, the Cubs’ asking price on guys is astronomical right now (or, at least it was last week)
Not hard to see why the Tigers went after Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante instead.

Randall Delgado, Drew Smyly, Jacob Turner, Jeff Samardzija and Travis Wood would have been a nice rotation...

Your right but since all of them have pitched at the big league level it isn't like counting on Almora, Soler and Baez all to develop either.

Yeah the Cubs are going to get screwed on this one but the Cubs hold the leverage with trading Garza at least.

#Cubs Matt Garza not expected to pitch until late next week. MRI was clean. Says he's feeling better

Germano could get the Monday start. Dempster still slated for Tuesday. This is fun.

Fuck this. So first Dempster fucks us over. Then Garza is unable to start.

Well this increases the odds of Dodgers going after Dempster that is about the only silver lining in this shitpile.
