As many young players as we have who look like they're going to make it in the league (Pirri, Morin, Saad, Hayes, Shaw, and this new midget), I don't mind giving away a few draft picks for a 2nd line center and/or a top 4 defender.

I have never heard that before and RFA compensation seems to be pretty strict (the draft picks must be the teams original picks).
