Detroit is 11-2 in thier last 13. Obviously that won't hold, but I think they're staying above .500 for the rest of the year. Sox just need to get out of their offensive slump.

Detroit is super hot right now, so that kind of changes things. I think it will definitely be a race, but I don't think the White Sox will keep a lead in the division as long as they have so far.
Detroit currently holds one of the wild cards so even if the White Sox lose the division lead there's a chance.
Ihighly doubt it was due to the 100 MPH pitch, a 3 MPH difference in threshold is a bit over played. there was torque already from attempt to swing, it wasnt lke the bat was just standing still, and we dont know the bat condition before that pitch if there was a fracture. this makes for a cool story but a very very nice illusion.
Today has the feel of a must win type game.

2 months of baseball left. i get pissed off at games like the walk off ross hr because it makes this series a 1st place battle, but 2 months is a long ass time. the trade deadline is crucial for all teams involved. kenny already addressed the 2hole and 3b with youk for nothing and got a veteran reliever. I say now he can focus on a SP.
Time is now. I wonder if the Marlins would be interested in trading away Carlos Z.
