Take our match up. To be 100% honest that's about the best matchup there will be, but even your own analysis was biased and when I saw that I went from voting for you to not voting at all.

Well obviously everyone's biased for themselves. It's just what we do. That's why I've now posted my logic (some more than others) for voting. But honestly, for this thing to be effective, people at least have to make arguments for themselves. It'd be nice if other people posted their thoughts as well, but AT LEAST have people argue their own case.

And honestly, I try to be as impartial as possible when I make my case. Perhaps my flaw lies in not wanting to sell my own team short in areas where you are clearly the winner (ie Durant vs Wallace maybe?). Perhaps the way I think about things is different than some as well. I'm not looking purely at names and offensive output...that's not accurate. Then Josmin would probably win every single matchup 600-0. Obviously if you have 5 20 point scorers in your starting lineup, not all of them are going to score 20 points. There's not enough basketballs going around for that. I like taking into account defense and play styles and all that. So yeah Russell Westbrook might be a better player than a lot of people, but he takes stupid shots and averages like 4 turnovers a game. I take that into account. I'm sure some others do that as well.

the point of "making your case" is to help people assess the teams more in-depth, rather than just looking on the surface on what people have what players

you have not "made your case" in any of the matchups you have been involved with...

i don't see any validation in your complaining about a potential fault of this re-draft system if you're not even using the system as you should

it's like complaining that your meal sucks when you haven't touched the main course

if both people vote,it's 1-1....doesn't really matter if people vote on their own matchup

it takes a little more time to organize the matchups, standings,etc....

plus the anonymity would not work too well unless the draft is somehow anonymous...people can look back at the draft and figure out which teams are which

then you make your case and supplement the other side of the spectrum..the voters know that the true result of the matchup in all facets will probably be somewhere in the middle, but it's their decision to see who did the better job making the case and what team to them is better

i don't understand why you are complaining about a person "making their case", it's not like you can't do the same freaking thing

B. this has it's own complications(i mean,first the person controlling the re-draft...etc. would have to not have a team....there would be a lot more emphasis on one person being on more to control everything behind the scenes...)
C. i wouldn't say this board is very clique-oriented or anything..the whole premise of your argument about this being a popularity contest, well i just dont see it...i think making these things anonymous would be a waste of time here..and it takes away some of the fun of it(boasting about your team,discussions,etc.)
