I know you have to "earn" your stripes but I honestly didn't expect to hear that Shea first day of camp finds him with the 3rd string...

    http://www.csnchicago.com/pages/vide...eOV14USAKa_aQo

AJ isn't with the 3rd string, he's up practicing with Cutler. I don't like the sound of this at all, but will wait for further reports.

I highly doubt anyone should worry about such things. They're grinding that farm kid into the ground and forcing him to earn his place on this team. But as for Jeffery, if they don't give him the reps to sync with Cutler now, then when they do put him in a game it'll be a lot harder for him to make a difference. He must learn their offense well and find some chemistry. There's little point in having him work purely with the back-ups, especially if he's going to have plays/packages just for him as well.

I know *sigh* they didn't even show a clip of him during the vids on official site. I remember the same thing with Paea last year, dude didn't get on the field until week 4 or something

I really hope he shows up in practice today with the pads on. We need this guy to be special.

On a different forum, a guy who went to camp yesterday told me the guy in the interview was wrong, Shea was working with the second team not the third, as he said, " I saw it with my own eye's". That made me feel better. I agree we need him to be special.

He passed, but they said something about how he has to go through 3 days of no pads before he can join team with pads. <---- dumb training camp rules.

No one seemed to mention the Hester injury yesterday. He's fine, but scary moment.

Interesting nugget: Bears QB Matt Blanchard can throw with either hand, but has been working as a right-hander in this camp.

That's fucking awesome. He rolls right and throws with his right, or he could roll left and throw with his left. Defense would be like WTF?

    From the Windy City Gridiron:

-Shea McClellin's been going against the second-team offensive line, and while he's been struggling once the tackle engages, he does have a solid burst off the line. He got knocked back by Kyle Adams on a run play and tipped a Jason Campbell pass at the line of scrimmage.

-In pass-rush drills, McClellin had a good speed rush against Webb, and Gabe Carimi evened the score with a stop against Israel Idonije. At least that's what was tweeted of those two. James Brown, the Troy rookie, has been Carimi's right tackle backup in the non-padded practices.

-Chris Williams and J'Marcus Webb alternated with the first team with Webb starting out. Only fair, as he's the incumbent. According to Bob LeGere and Mark Potash, Webb got the majority of first-team snaps. Tice still put in some work with Webb. One of Sean Jensen's colleagues reported Webb playing well against Julius Peppers in one-on-ones.

-Evan Rodriguez has apparently made some big strides since rookie camps, even though he's catching from Jason Campbell and Matt Blanchard. But according to Matt Bowen, the Bears are creating a role for him.

-Sean Jensen listed Cutler, Marshall, Rodriguez, Josh McCown and Kellen Davis as players that impressed at practice.
I also saw tweets about Bush having a force fumble (IT'S BARBER ALL AGAIN, WAHHH!), and that Cutler and Marshall lit the defense the fuck up. Marshall pretty much caught everything, including multiple bombs. Jeffery had one bomb himself and seemed to do okay. Tillman got school'd like a punk by Marshall.

Double Post: I almost forgot that on tweet mentioned Bennett had more than just a few drops. Quite strange for him.

He was probably in a daze/jealous rage at all the fireworks Jay and Marshall were making.

"But--but I made an underwear commercial!"
