Sox are doing the right thing skipping starts, and it shouldn't be a surprise to see bumps in the road going from a career high of 136 innings to a full major legue season as a front of the rotation starter.

im fne with whatever they do. they are the experts not I. if it keeps him healthy for now and most importantly the future im game.
I'm surprised that they aren't pushing him with a tight division race, but this is the right call because the drop in velocity has to be concerning.

like what i said earlier. stone talked about dead arm and how it goes away as fast as it came. we are going into august and pitchers start to wear down, especially guys like him who are in unfamiliar waters. id rather have him sit in a tight race for starts than to lose him to an actual injury that could damper hi future. The sox have a good enough team to keep going back and forth with the tigers the rest of the way plus the schedule starts to chill.
As I said I like what they are doing, and this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that it is happening. Very rarely does a guy jump over a 100 innings pitched in a season with no problems. The Sox and the Nats have interesting situations being in the race and having their best pitcher facing career highs in innings prior to the playoffs. The way each one is handling it is fascinating to watch.

I think what the Sox are doing is a lot smarter than what the Nationals are doing. This way they actually have him ready for the playoffs if that happens. Nationals are gonna get screwed because Strasburg will hit that "limit" and be shut down right on the spot. Smart to give Sale rest when there are some problems like there are right now.
I understand why they're doing what they are in Washington, but I think the way the White Sox are handling him when problems arise is better. The one hiccup in the beginning of the year was worrisome, but I believe that Cooper and his staff know what they're doing.
I think the dead arm period is gone and he'll be more refreshed mentally after not pitching for 9 days. Hope that this means he will be able to last through the rest of the season and beyond. Back to five man means he'll most likely be starting on normal rest.
hes been hitting 95 tonite so far

Dead arm comes and goes. This makes sense because the dead arm is gone now.
yep. its weird when it first happened how stone says it goes as fast as it comes. he looked awesome tonight.
Il take this start of 8 IP with less Ks not throwing 120 pitches. yes he pitched awesome. not verlander awesome, but his start was awesome.
I keep thinking back to his start about 6-8 weeks ago when the Sox were up by 8-12 in the 7th but they kept bringing Sale out to pitch.
