Bears LB backups have been terrible. Don't really know what the article is talking about. Hillenmeyer was the only one with a brain.
http://www.rantsports.com/chicago-be...53-man-roster/The Chicago Bears are the middle of training came and we don't know who will all make the 53 man roster. However, I decided to have an early prediction of the 53-man roster. I will have another prediction when preseason concludes and when we have a better idea of who will make the 53-man roster. Here's my early stages of the 53-man roster:
QBs: Jay Cutler, Jason Campbell, Josh McCown: The Bears will actually go with 3 QBs this year, unlike years in the pass. The Bears want as much depth as possible and all 3 QBs can put up nice stats.
RBs: Matt Forte, Michael Bush, Kahlil Bell. Tyler Clutts: These are the 3 most likely RBs to make the roster, but if Bell can't hold onto the ball, Don't be surprise if he does not make the roster and Armando Allen or Harvey Unga. I there is a good chance the Bears will have a FB on their roster this year.
WRs: Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Earl Bennett, Devin Hester, Eric Weems, Devin Thomas: The first 5 guys will make the team, but Thomas may be on the border. Many people would rather have Dane Sanzenbacher. So, preseason will be a big indicator.
TEs: Kellen Davis, Matt Spaeth, Evan Rodriguez, Kyle Adams: I do think there's a great chance the Bears will go with 4 TEs. Rodriguez and Adams have impressed thus far.
OLs: Roberto Garza, Gabe Carimi, Chris Spencer, Chris Williams, J'Marcus Webb, James Brown, Lance Louis, Chilo Rachal, Edwin Williams: Yes, I do know the offense line still does not look good on paper. There's not much competition, but there will be some for the remaining spots.
DLs: Julius Peppers, Shea McClellin, Matt Toeaina, Corey Wootton, Stephen Paea, Chauncey Davis, Brian Price, Henry Melton: DL is the hardest position to figure out who will make the team by far. There will be a lot of competition going forward.
LBs: Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Nick Roach, Blake Constanzo, Geno Hayes, J.T. Thomas: LB has been one of the best strengths for every season. Manly because of Urlacher and Briggs, but the back-ups haven't been bad either.
CBs: Charles Tillman, Tim Jennings, DJ Moore, Kelvin Hayden, Johnathon Wilhite: Not much of a change from last year besides Bowman for Hayden. I didn't really like Bowman, so I'll be fine with Hayden. Also, adding Wilhite to the mix too.
S: Major Wright, Craig Steltz, Chris Conte, Brandon Hardin: I think safety is pretty obvious and I do expect these 4 to make the team.
ST: K Robbie Gould, P Adam Podlesh, LS Patrick Mannelly: Well, this is way too obvious and self explanatory.
Well here's my 53-man roster of the Chicago Bears: Obvious these will chance and not be correct. As injuries do occur and players who are suppose to make the team just flat out fail.

I thought Hillemeyer was good in his beginning years, but slipped off. Eventually to his release of the Bears.

I pretty much agree with this. Anytime Urlacher or Briggs go down, we suffer greatly. Granted those are big shoes to fill, but its also frightening for the future and like in 2009 frightening if any big injury occurs. Those guys pretty much need to play all 16 games.
Rant Sports sucks.
I do think there's a great chance both CBs will be cut, they were 6th and 7th round picks. So, nothing special. It'll come down to one of them and Wilhite. They must have forgot about Idonije, it happens... He'll make it for sure and I would say Wootton or Price is the odd man out.

This is all depending (for me) if kyle adams can be put on the practice squad, because if he can be then Wooten and Price get to stay. Our rookie CB's might also be demoted to practice squad.

This whole thing has stupid written all over it just from the way that they talked about why they think what they think, what they actually think, and who they think will be cut.
Not only was the writing suspect, but they're were some gramatical errors not even The Bleacher Report would make....I don't trust it.

I would be shocked if Frey got cut. I've heard good things about him, and they need a young guy to stick around and learn from Tillman and co. McCoy has also been impressive in the punt return game (Toub was giving him props), but its likely he'd be a practice squad guy. There's no way the Bears would just cut 2 draft picks.
Strangely enough, the one weird thing i do agree on with them is Kyle Adams. Clutts will be long gone, and Rodriguez will be the starter, so they need to keep someone who can back him up, and i think Kyle is also versatile enough that he could take some regular TE snaps if necessary. If they don't keep a backup for Rodriguez, and he goes down in a game, they have no one who could fill in his position. It would limit their playbook immensely, so thats why i think they keep Adams. It's all just training camp speculation though
Johnny Knox, you will be missed
Adams from what I've hears has been great and I think he should make it. If the Bears do indeed Keep for TEs, Clutts probbly won't make it. A TE can play FB if needed, such as Spaeth. Just be in the backfield to help block more. Also, I seen Clutts play, he does drop a good amount of passes. I'd rather have an extra TE over a FB.

Yes I did, But I'll admit, it was not writeen too great. I did make mistakes and I haven't done that in a while. I think I rushed it and didn't proof read it too great. I think I went to play bball and I posted it faser that I wanted to, to go play. Also, I had nothing else to right on an just took a article that I could come up with.
It was WAY too early since we haven't seen them play and I do know that. It's better to have this right after preseason, when it makes more sense.
Also, I could see the Bears going with 6 CBs if they all prove themself in preseason. But people don't think Wilhite will make the team, so we'll see.

Coming from someone who is studying journalism at a Big Ten university. My friend, you really need to learn to write better, and proof read. Not only did your article seem poorly written, but come on man, for instead of four? And really, 'I seen Clutts play'?Yes I did, But I'll admit, it was not writeen too great. I did make mistakes and I haven't done that in a while. I think I rushed it and didn't proof read it too great. I think I went to play bball and I posted it faser that I wanted to, to go play. While that article was premature in nature, I would have had a much easier time trying to believe it, had it not been for all the grammatical and typographical errors. I'm not saying my posts on this forum are always grammatically correct, but if I were doing work to be published, I would at least spell check it, and proof read...

I'm not going for journalism and I said I rushed it a bit. My articles are not bad, but thin one wan't the best. I'll admit to it and Bears is not my strong suit, the Cubs are. I someimes read over what I write on the forum and sometimes I don't, depending on how much time I have.

So because you aren't going into journalism you can't take pride in the work you post? Even if "Bears is not" your strong suit, sounding articulate and informative should be the goal of anyone trying to get people to read and respect what the have to say.
Shaved Clams and Beaver Dams
Rushing out the door before you posted this one as well, I suppose.
So the crux of this 'article' is you predicting who will be on the 53 man roster? What do you base any of this on? Have you seen the team practice? Are you talking to coaches? How do you make this evaluation?
This just seems like a waste of time. I would have played basketball earlier, if I were you.
The funniest thing to me is the grammatical errors when he's talking about his grammatical errors in the article. I understand being rushed and maybe making a mistake, but if you're going to publish something on the internet on a site that gets quite a bit of traffic, proofread first. If you don't have time, don't publish it.
Also, I agree with Prope. If you weren't talking to coaches or taking direct quotes that others have posted or tweeted from the coach, it's just a guess based on nothing that nobody really wants to read. The premise behind the article isn't bad if you have good information, but you didn't really have good or direct information other than "I think".
Not trying to be a dick and pick apart everything you've written, but I'm just trying to give constructive criticism. I'm not a perfect writer. I'm far from it. Just giving some helpful hints.
That's not the funniest part. The funniest part is that he is trying to push his grammatical errors off as him being rushed. If you look at other articles he has written for that website, you'll find a plethora of other mistakes that are just as bad. The only two conclusions I can draw from that is that he either has a deadline that is 15 minutes long for every article, or he just doesn't know how to correctly proofread.
