I second that......MAINLY because of ticket availibility. Personally, I have been a Bears fan for years, but I have been a FOOTBALL fan for nearly my entire life (39 yrs old) and any chance I get to get cheaper tickets to an NFL game.....and even have it be in Chicago too.....I'm in! HELL, I go to Chicago Rush and Slaughter games JUST BECAUSE I cant seem to get enough football in my life!!!

If it ever happened, I'd think the relationship would be similar to that of Sox/Cubs. either you're on one side or the other....if one team is in the playoffs and the other isn't, several fans would probably quietly hope for them to succeed just b/c it's good for the city...but other than that, eff 'em.

If that ever happened, good Lord...can you imagine 16 games/year played @ Soldier? The sod is bad enough as it is

Maybe two ownership groups combined would equal more funding for a new stadium or expansion too... so maybe we can get a Super Bowl

With Bear tickets so hard to get, the hassle of driving downtown and parking....I'd like to see some AFC team set up shop out here in the northwest suburbs. I'd still be a huge Bear fan but I would actually buy some tickets if a team was closer and more accessible to me.
LOL, how old are you? The Chicago Cardinals never played a game at Soldiers Field.

I wouldn't root against them, unless they were playing the Bears. But it would VERY tough for them to build a fan base here. Don't see many Bears fans jumping ship if it happened.

This thread is a painful reminder of just how badly the taxpayers of Chicago got screwed by Ted Philips and former mayor Daley. The current debt/bonds utilized for the existing stadium won't be paid off until about 2032. Even if this market could(which it obviously cannot)support a second NFL team, any and all public funds for a new stadium have already been spent on the poorly done renovation.

Larger than Baltimore-Washington or the Bay Area, and each supports multiple. It would simply take some form of appeal to casual fans (e.g. cheap tix) and patience.
