Maybe if they relocated to another city. Other than that, no.
Is there anything that would cause you to drop your loyalty and support of one of your favorite teams? Whether it be a scandal or cheating, continued losing streaks or any number of factors, is there anything that would make you either root for a different team or just forget about your team and the sport they play altogether?
Maybe if they relocated to another city. Other than that, no.
Not sure what the Bulls could do to make me completely give up on them like that. If they have years like 1999-2003 I might not watch as much, but they'd still be my team. I might start paying more attention to other teams that I like, but they'd all still be behind the Bulls.![]()

maybe re-location for a pro team...other than that
losing doesn't make me not root for them less, technically, or not root for them at all, just that i wont watch the team as much because i'm not going to consistently watch a team play like shit because i wont enjoy it...that kind of defeats the purpose of watching sports
Penn state situation. Stop rooting until staff and everyone involved is gone.
I stopped watching baseball all together, and I'm willing to bet that I have been to more Cubs games than the most active Cubs posters here. A load of Sox games, but I wont go that far to make the same claim. Ya'll don't know this about me, I used to be baseball first.
It all had to do with how both teams were managed in this city. Shit is EMBARRASSING.
Only if they were relocated. But I'd probably still be a fan of the relocated team anyways.....but let's face it, that's unlikely for Chicago since we're such a big market![]()
Signatures are overrated.
I would never under any circumstances forsake my White Sox, no matter what, if people could stay faithful to them during the Black Sox scandal, quite possibly the worst scandal in the history of sport then I should be able to stick with them through anything. I love that team, they have gotten me through death, divorce, and disappointment just by continuing to play, and give me a place to go and relax and have fun. Baseball is more than a game or a sport to me, it's a part of my life. Even if the team moved, I would still be faithful to them because who else could I turn to? The Cubs?![]()
There is nothing on this planet to stop me from liking the Blackhawks

Signing Brett Favre
Just starting to get over it but it will never be the same.
But as far as 2013, you can define it as a success or failure by whether we make the postseason, and ultimately whether we win the World Series.

Shit, I wouldn't care if one of my favorite teams signed a rival player if it helped us win.

I've stopped following the Lions. Year after year of abject failure under Millen and he was rewarded with a 5 year extension did it for me. That coupled with the sterile unfriendly atmosphere the Lions instituted at Ford Field make it easy to give up on them. I haven't watched a game on TV in two years, after having season tickets since 1996, and I don't miss it at all. I still go to the Thanksgiving game every year because it's a tradition with my dad, but I usually read the program for most of the game. He still has his seats and my sister and her family now go with him.
Originally I said I'd start following them again after old man Ford either died or sold the team, but it's to a point I don't miss it at all and I can't see myself ever following them again.
Brett Favre is the only player I hate enough to root against whatever team he plays for. There's no other situation I can compare it to.
Favre playing for the Packers and being the face of the Packers is bad enough but I was more annoyed by the multiple fake retirements for attention. Cry in front of the microphone, go home and watch your face on ESPN for the next couple weeks or months, then say "lol just kidding". "Oh you already told Rodgers he was starting? Too bad, I'm back". The way he did anything like faking he was unsure about playing to get out of training camp was also pathetic. Greater players than him show up to training camp every year. Brett Favre is a piece of shit plain and simple.

The Lions have totally turned me off to football. I don't think I watched more than four quarters of football all last year. I can't even remember who played in the Super Bowl. Green Bay or New Orleans?
Aside from having seasons, we would take a road trip every year. We'd have anywhere from 12 to 30 guys depending on where the trip went. We stopped doing that in the mid 2000's when we kept losing more and more guys each year.
It wasn't just the losing that did me in. Hell, the Lions have been terrible most of my lifetime. It was the total disrespect by the organization as a whole towards its fans. Ownership refused to talk to the media. Once they moved to Ford Field they took away every single perk of season tickets. We didn't get much to begin with, a media guide, team store discount, gift cards to retail sponsors and such. They even stopped sending Christmas cards. Just overall taking their most passionate fans for granted.
