if it's just bynum they're giving up, that seems pretty absurd

Yeah, it appears Gasol was not a piece at all.
they traded dwight for afflalo?
i like arron (i was a huge supporter of him coming to the bulls) but wow
Yeah, It seems like the magic have a real strong desire for non lottery picks.
Maybe Orlando just wanted it done and get rid of this drama so they could focus on their season.
Amazing how they kept Pau.
The Lakers snapped. Their starting lineup is sick. Philadelphia also lost Iguodala but them getting Bynum helps them out big time.
NBA is back!!!

Orlando's front office is lacking in intelligence and the NBA just became the a shit league if you're not a bandwagon lakers/heat fan. Fuck stern and fuck the NBA.
If David Stern allows the Lakers to get Dwight Howard, I'm done with the NBA. No parity at all when you allow super teams to be built. The CBA was supposed to help? Who are you trying to fool, comrade?
Perhaps now we might get to see Kobe and LeBron face off in the Finals.
The Lakers being really good is sooo boring
But as far as 2013, you can define it as a success or failure by whether we make the postseason, and ultimately whether we win the World Series.

1. How the fuck were the Lakers able to keep Pau? How do they keep managing to pull off these highway robberies? Got Gasol for almost nothing a few years ago. Got Nash for 2 seconds and 2 firsts... and now just give up Bynum to upgrade at C? holy fuck.
2. Orlando... seriously? That's the best deal you had? Harrington, afflalo, Vucecvic and 3 protected first round picks for Howard? Is Hennigan high? HOU and NJ offered better than that.

Its good to know we know what the 2013 NBA Finals will be already.
Saw that Mo Harkless, one of the 76ers 1st rd picks is also going to Orlando...
only if we had a GM like mitch
dude gets shit done
Hard to believe, because I could have sworn Howard was coming to the Bulls.
HOU's offer was better than NJ's offer. They were offering more/better first round picks, they offered all 3 first rounders that they drafted this year and would have given up couple other players for Dwight and didn't even care if he signed an extension. In late June, it was reported that the Rockets will give up w/e it takes to get Dwight even if it means not having him commit.
ORL should have jumped on that. This deal is just bad. Harrington is on the wrong side of 30 and is just a role player at this point, Vucevic is just a project and could be nothing, could be average and Afflalo is what he is. a good defender/spot up shooter. Can't really create his own shot or handle the ball. He's like a version of Luol Deng, but a better shooter.. no more than a good role player on a championship roster... and 3 protected first rounders? Those are useless. The magic would have been better off letting Howard walk. At least then they wouldn't have benb left with Harrington's and afflalo's contracts [combined 50+ million over the length of their contracts].
Just don't get why ORL would do this when they had better offers in the past, and could have had better offers in the future.

Disagree.
Orlando had no choice but to move Dwight now. After they turned down offers to HOU and NJ, which IMO weren't much better then what they received from this deal, Howard told them where he stands. Trade me now to LA, trade me mid season to NJ or I walk. They had ZERO leverage. They took the deal here that they had because they had too. They wanted something in return for Dwight, not just letting him walk.
I agree the deal is a tad bit one-sided, but hey it happened. Howards constant annoyance caused this.
i don't think it's rigged, but it's just fascinating to me how the Lakers always seem to make these kinds of moves. It's like teams feel like the NEED to help the Lakers.
I have to be honest though... I'm more mad then I should be for 2 reasons. 1, I'm a huge fan of the NBA and moves like this irk me. I like seeing new teams compete for the title if the Bulls aren't going to win it... I'm just sick of seeing the Lakers there. 2, I don't like the Lakers haha.
The NBA is rigged, maybe not completely but in the playoffs, the refs lean more towards a specific team because the comish wants what's good for buisiness which means having a certain team win. btw LOVE this trade for my Sixers
