I think it would be in the MLS best interest to expand to some of those cities. I guess the Cosmos have a bit of history too though.
I know what you saying with Miami, but Florida simply doesn't have the intrest in other sports for me to think a soccer club would be feasible. Example: Miami Marlins, they sold the latino ticket, HARD. Ozzie Guillen, Hanley Ramirez, Jose Reyes, Carlos Zambrano, new kinda latino-ish colors, and to top it all off a beautiful brand new stadium. And now look where they are at mid-season I think Phoneix would do well with team, as well as San Diego

I hear you. Soccer is a much cheaper sport to run and in the US we get what, like 20,000 fans at a game? Tickets would be alot cheaper than football. There is also the aspect of lesser teams competing in other tournaments against MLS teams. Once it gets a little bigger, you will see more involvment. What I would like to see is have the European formula where smaller teams can compete in a B league or a 2 league and have them compete to get into the MLS premiere team. For example I live in WI and there is an FC Milwaukee, but I doubt you will see them any time soon in the MLS. Not that I would root for them any way lol. Saying this I would normally say having another team in San Diego would be feasable even with 2 teams already in the Los Angeles area and one in San Jose. Every team city can theoretically have a team or even two.

Ya, I'd just rather it be for the Red Bulls.

I think Flushing Meadows is where they should have built the stadium in the first place. I went to a Mets game there this weekend and it's easy and quick as hell to get there via subway from Manhattan and/or Brooklyn, not to mention that it's surrounded by highways. It's tight, but there's space. Much better equipped than the waste pit that is Harrison without the extra NJT train fees to get back and forth.
