With Melky out for the season, I think the Giants may go after Soriano.

Heyman says so too, but Soriano already told Cubs he wouldn't accept a trade there.

Well, I wonder if he'll change his mind now that the Giants are in the driver's seat in the NL West, but were not at the deadline.

Heyman says a source says the Cubs offered to pay all but 3Mil of Soriano's salary.

Marmol cleared too I guess

Sori:

"San Francisco is not good weather to play in. It's on the West Coast and I've never played on the West Coast. We'll see what happens if they call. I'll talk to my family then and see. It's not my call. I know it's 50 percent of my call, but it's my family's [call] too. I'd talk to my family and see what happens."

So sit on a team that is rebuilding and not going anywhere or go to a place with not the ideal weather conditions? hmm

Som players are not all about winning and will do what's best for their family. It does not sound ideal, but it's true and good in ways too.

Also, players just love Chicago and don't want to leave (no bias).

As badly as he was treated, Milton Bradley was a total ass

A better example might be Mark Grace.

Giants GM Brian Sabean has not been much of an Alfonso Soriano fan through the years, so he seems unlikely to pursue him following Cabrera's suspension according to Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com (on Twitter). Yesterday we heard that Soriano is unlikely to approve a trade to San Francisco anyway.

Probably wouldn't have happened anyway so it's a moot point.

Soriano to the Rays seems logical in the off-season if he isn't traded in the waiver period.

Let the bum walk

He's not walking for another couple years due to his contract, and I doubt they just let him walk when he still has the power bat.

And welcome to the forum :D
