Once your offer is in the players agent (whitesoxman77) will then respond if the player is interested in signing with your team or not. He will quote the post with the offer and respond in red if the player would like more money, to play for a contender, to stay in a certain area, etc.

Shane appreciate Phoenix's interest in keeping him where his career started, but he would like an additional year for financial security.

I have decided to decline your offer. Although the years were good I would prefer to play in Canada with a young and upcoming Oilers team than Phoenix, thank you for your interest.

Phoenix is willing to add another year, but will drop the cap hit by 500k per year
