Samardzija vs. Pomeranz - likely win
Raley vs. White - could go either way
Volstad vs. Chacin - guaranteed loss by at least 8 runs

If V0-9lstad can't even get a win against the Rockies and goes to 0-10.... I say release him immediately and plug in a new guy. Rusin should start in his place anyway. That dude was quite impressive in his debut.

Sveum has already said that Volstad is sticking around for the rest of the season but I wouldn't be surprised if they released him if he got shelled.

Really? The rest of the season eh? What about the youth movement? We clearly all can see Volstad sucks at baseball. Let a young guy get some PT and see how it goes.

They could call up other guys but that means you're starting their service clocks too. It's a minor consideration though since most of the I-Cubs pitching is pure crap anyway.

I didn't think about the service time. So that's true. And well new young suck is better than the same old suck. Hmm... take that last part however you want.

Yeah we're stuck with Vol-suck for the rest of the season.. We have some guys in AA that are doing alright but our guys in AAA aren't.

The guys in AA aren't exactly elite or else I might have suggested having them bypass AAA altogether for a callup. I doubt this front office calls random guys up willy-nilly though.
