FYI, callups via ESPN Chicago:

The Chicago Cubs will send left-hander Chris Rusin (0-1, 1.80) against Nationals right-hander Edwin Jackson (8-9, 3.53 ERA) on Tuesday night.

Rusin and three others, pitchers Jaye Chapman and Rafael Dolis and catcher Anthony Recker, will be added to Chicago's roster on Tuesday.

Cubs manager Dale Sveum is pleased with the job that interim hitting coach James Rowson has done since taking over for Rudy Jaramillo in June, according to Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times. Rowson could figure into next season's plans, as Sveum plans to address the 2013 coaching staff in the season's final weeks.

I like what they are trying to do with Rowson's tutelage. However, I'm also intrigued by the potential of adding Magadan to the coach staff as was suggested just a month or so ago. I would almost like to see Magadan as the MLB team's hitting instructor, and Rowson back in the minors... and the two of them working with Sveum, Buckner, and MAriano Duncan (AA Tennessee hitting coach) to create an effective method to teach players the best technique for their individual styles, skills, and talents... starting at the rookie camps and going all the way through the majors.
