I really think the Cubs can turn around now. The offense and starting pitchers have been rolling, and Z should help fix the bullpen. And they held Milwaukee to just 4 runs over 3 games after Milwaukee beat Pit 20-0.

I also think that the Cubs have a chance to gain confidence by playing a bunch of bad teams early on, and hopefully can pull ahead of the Cards and just keep on rolling.

There is always that possibility. The starting pitching has been strong all year. If the bullpen and the hitting fall in line with the starting pitching they have a very strong chance to take the lead in the division and roll with it.

The offense is one of the best in the NL IMO. They've been on fire lately and if they stay consistent like they have been recently the Cubs could win the division or get a WC spot.

4 in a row! Nice way to end it, I wanted a hit so Ramirez could boost his confidence rather than just stand there and not feel any better about himself.

Silva had a perfecto through 3, but he fell apart a little bit, but on the other hand he finished strong. Z and Marmol did pretty good too.

Aramis won't feel bad about taking a walk. Even he said he has been swinging at bad pitches. This shows that he wasn't going to swing at bad pitches. Even the fastball that was very close (3rd pitch) he didn't swing at. I'm sure he will take a bases loaded walk than nothing at all.

Let's see...I'd put the Dodgers, Brewers, Cardinals and possibly Phillies ahead of the Cubs in terms of offensive ability. So that's what, 4th-5th in the NL and 3rd in the division? Eh, I dunno.

But Milwaukee's bad pitching overwrites their offense.

No, they seem way better than the 2009 Cubs as long as Z keeps the pen together.

I know, they seem to be more determined, more motivated, and having more fun this season. I think the Cubs can be at least a threat to St. louis this year, and wouldn't be shocked if they got a playoff berth.

Starting pitching, the bullpen, offense and defense don't matter, as long as there's great clubhouse chemistry. After all, that's why the Yankees won the World Series last year! I love Chicago sportswriters...

wow, lol. I do think the chemistry does spark the offense and pitching a bit though.

I bet you are right, Millar did in Spring a bit too, but then we released him.

But Milwaukee's bad pitching overwrites their offense.

This would be great analysis if we were talking about ALL facets of the game, but we aren't. Going just strictly by offense, the Cubs aren't even second-best in the division.
