Reminder: If you use the Thursday thread, you do not need to pick the Thursday game in this thread.
Game of the week is in RED
TEAMS ON A BYE-WEEK:
Dallas Cowboys
Detroit Lions
Oakland Raiders
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
COMING OFF THE BYE:
I like to research how teams come off a bye. Some teams habitually lose, others win. These are NOT guarantees, in fact, you don't even have to read these I am just researching it, so am sharing what I find.
I look at the last 10 years of a team coming off a bye. See if there is a pattern. See how a team responds to a bye week. Probably useless, but I like to do it.
Indianapolis Colts:
8-2 Coming off bye in last 10 years. LWWWWWWLWW
Streak - 1L
Notes: This means nothing. No Peyton Manning. New coaches. How will they respond?
Pittsburgh Steelers
7-3 Coming off bye in last 10 years. WWWWLLWWLW
Streak - 4W
Notes: Steelers have won last 4, but they were all against BAD teams. 13-9 over '11 Chiefs, 28-10 over '10 Browns, 28-10 over '09 Broncos and 38-10 over '08 Bengals. Although, most were won convincingly. This time around? 3-1 Eagles at home.
The Cut-off time for the Sunday games is 12:00 PM CT or 1:00 PM ET. Good luck in week 5!
Score for those who want to join this week - 22. Picks if you do not get your picks in this week (based off vegas lines in brackets):
Rams (2), Eagles (2 1/2), Colts (7 1/2), Browns (13), Redskins (3), Dolphins (4), Chiefs (7), Seahawks (2) , Jaguars (3), Broncos (7 1/2), Bills (8), Titans (5 1/2), Chargers (3 1/2), Jets (4 1/2)
