I don't know about giving Major Wright an A. He is a good player, he isn't great. Much like 90% of players who come out of Florida he is a product of a system and in other systems he will not work. He will be riding pine for a long time IMO. So I do agree he was the Tim Tebow of the defense in that regard. I think the fact that Bears needed a safety and they got one from Florida is the reason he is so hyped up.

I agree with the rest of what you wrote though.

Morgan Burnett was taken 4 spots earlier and he was the next best FS available IMO. And it's not because he's from Florida, he's got the talent to be a good FS, SS, or a valuable ST player. The pick was an A because of the Bears huge need for a FS and he was a 2nd round pick who fell IMO

Major Wright is not worth an A. It's very hard to give someone a Grade A in the 3rd rd imo.

I guess time will tell. I'm just not that big on him. I think he will be just more of a special teams player and have zero impact on defense.

No such thing as a normal Draft imo. Each Draft is different.

The only A in the 3rd rd was McCoy.

Well by your theory he was drafted in the 3rd round so he shouldn't be an A

No, he isn't good enough to be considered an A, especially in the 3rd rd.

Just because a player goes in rounds 3-7 doesn't mean that pick wasn't great. So if Eric Berry fell to the 3rd it wouldn't be an A?

Colt McCoy = Tim Couch. Without going in the first round. But he was drafted by the right team.

Tim Couch was destroyed by his horrendous O-Line. Colt McCoy=Jeff Garcia

Maybe. I did feel he at least went in the right round. I would have called shenanigans if he had been drafted in the first 2 rounds.
