I hope we are ready to play on Tuesday against Mexico. They lost to Honduras 2-1 in Mexico, they are playing for their World Cup lives........

The interesting question about this group of qualifiers is what you do in the midfield. Dempsey isn't necessarily fit, Donovan would be better served as a striker to open things up on the wing for Bedoya or Zusi, and I actually prefer Cameron over Jones as Bradley's partner in the midfield. Mix has shown himself to have a creative spark that is often missing from the USMNT, but he's muscled off the ball far too easily. I'd prefer to see Beasley in the midfield.

Although I've been critical of previous attempts to run the 4-3-3, I think this roster could do it. I'd start Howard in goal and put Castillo, Besler, Gonzalez, and Parkhurst (called up to replace the injured Brad Evans) on the back line. Fabian Johnson, Michael Bradley, and Alejandro Bedoya would get my call in the midfield, and Beasley, Jozy, and Landon would play up top. If Dempsey is fit, I'd probably move away from the 4-3-3, but I like the offensive potential of such a set-up.

Jones is better than Cameron even though both didn't have a good game. Michael Bradley was missed because he makes the midfield click.

So...any predictions for the upcoming game against Mexico? I'm only going to say that I'm very worried. This team looked pretty bad last game.

We're shorthanded too, so that will suck. I'll be in class this whole time, which sucks too.

Yeah I'm a little worried. Especially being short-handed.

2013 United States National Teams Thread

With all the guys missing I'm really just hoping for a draw. A draw at home isn't preferable, but under the circumstances I think I'll be happy.

I received an email a couple weeks ago my name wasn't selected in the lottery, but there might be a chance additional seats open up. When I didn't hear anything by last Friday I cancelled our hotel room in Columbus. Now we're working a half day, making the 3-1/2 hour trip, going to the game then hopping right back in the car and coming home. Should be back around 2am. Looks like Wednesday is not going to be a productive day at work.
