Byrd's catch was amazing. So lucky, but you have to be good to be lucky. I think that is the best catch of the year and will be a top play for a long long time.

Plus I think that's better than Buerhle's play from opening day.

What do you think?

Definatly better than Buerhle's play...HE WASNT EVEN LOOKING WHEN HE CAUGHT IT!!....Amazing play...so happy the Cubs acquired him...

I'm a huge Cubs/Byrd fan, and that catch was awesome. But are we seriously comparing that to what Buerhle did on opening day? That play was all-time awesome.

Not sure about youtube...i was shocked when i saw it...really great play...he himself didnt believe he made the catch....

1) Buerhle wasn't looking either (he was diving to the ground with a glove between his legs

2) Yes, I've "SEEN" it. It was awesome. Lucky, but awesome. Buerhle's was lucky too but he didn't just stab a glove at a ball like Byrd did.

Definitely an awesome catch but a lucky one nonetheless. Buehrle's play was web gem of the year material. Byrd's will not be mentioned. I am an original rider of the "Byrdwagon" and I am very happy we have him and have been since we signed him but still not the better play.

Step away from being a Cubs fan for a second and look at the plays unbiased.

Thanks for not being a Cubs homer! It's refreshing to see Cubs fans who can still analyze plays that the White Sox players make without hating the plays instantly for the sole fact that a White Sox player made it.

its not skill he just got very lucky

i mean he wasnt looking at it or anything he just had his glove out

buerhle's play was better

but byrd's play was still pretty friggin awesome
