Meaning even without a first round pick Theo still got a quality guy in the second round he could develop.

Lester was drafted in June of 2002.
Theo took over as GM in November of 2002.

He phrased it awkwardly, if you read it again you can make out that since he was talking about the draft the year before he took over not having a first rounder that he still got Lester inherited after he had been drafted int he second round. Didn't make too much sense the way he typed it though.
