Dino Babers is 7-3 and 5-1 at Bowling Green this year. Clinched the MAC East and will likely face NIU in the MAC Championship.

I was always surprised that a guy like Kurt Kittner never got into coaching.

Another blowout, although this one was close for a long time.

ND is horrible.
Does the administration even care about FB at this point?

I would try to get that BB program to elite status and work from there....there is no reason for the Illini to be THIS bad though.

Nice win against Penn State. Win next week and they could find themselves in a bowl game.

Still can't believe Minnesota lost to them though, would be ranked much higher

They did play better. Beckdick might have saved his job.

No way they can bring him back, even if he wins next week and makes a bowl game.

Look at the pictures of the empty parking lots and empty stands. THAT speaks volumes to an AD.

It should speak volumes to big time donors, too

I didn't see this coming, but congrats to the Illini. Chicago's Big Ten team!

I hate this coach but the team showed up today.

I'm concerned now that Beckman survives. Would have preferred a loss today as opposed to going to an irrelevant bowl game.

Well he's coming back. But no mention of an extension today, so that's good news. Most of the writers were saying he could get a 1 or 2 year extension to help with recruiting efforts, but Thomas didn't give him one.

I still think this is a pretty shitty team that overachieved at the end. Lucked into a win against Minnesota, got beat by the worst team in the B1G at home, beat a NW team without their QB, and weren't competitive at all against the upper echelon teams on the schedule- Washington, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or Ohio State.

He will be getting an extension or already has received one that hasn't been reported. It would make recruiting more difficult than it already is for IL. What it really shows is that 1) there must not have been much interest in the HC job from some of the people who would have been contacted via back channels and 2) other than losing to PU, he won the games he should have won and beat one team he wasn't supposed to beat (MN). 6-6 and going to a bowl and 10 of the 12 opponents finished .500 or better.

Local radio is reporting that he has been extended. No details yet. Fuck.

Coaches get fired all the time before the contract/extension is up. What matters is the buyout $ in the extension.

We played 7 home games, and trailed in the 4th quarter of every one, even the 5 wins.

We played 10 teams not in the Top 25.

We played two Top 25 teams, one of which fired their coach, and lost these two games by an average of THIRTY SIX points.

We did not beat a single good team.

We did not play a single game that was entertaining to watch.

And it is continuing for at least another year. Sigh.

According to reports, Illinois played the 10th toughest schedule this season...based upon 10 of the 12 opponents finishing .500 or better of course. FWIW.

Folks the bottomline is that the higher ups at UI have absolutely no fucking interest in fielding a good football team. Time to accept it and move on. I would recommend that nobody buys tickets to the games or merchandise or anything. Until the fans say FUCK IT AND FUCK THEM, this will continue.

There won't be many buying tickets for games next year. Attendance will be brutal.

Heart of Dallas Bowl, 12/26 @ noon on ESPN against LaTech. Congrats to the players for working really hard...and especially the seniors!
