Rewatching some of the game last night, I just wanted to point out to you guys Matt Slauson has been a complete animal on the LG side. I'm expecting(and hoping) to see him get a nice big extension at the end of the year. Not only has he been a stud, but he really brings an attitude to the line that I love for Chicago Bears linemen.

Olin Kreutz would be proud.

I was wondering this when he was originally signed. Why the hell was he let go?

Hope he loves playing for us and takes a discount for a long term contract.

I will completely admit that I was more worried about Slauson going into the season than I was Long due to his play during camp and pre-season but he has been very solid. I will happily eat that crow for doubting him.

Their GM/Coach is high on Vladimir Ducacass who was their draft pick a few years back replacing him... The kid is big, idk how he looks so far, maybe he's good. (looked and pff posted he had a great game vs the Pats, for what that's worth)

Odd note listening to Mike and Mike a few moments after week one and Golic said, Slausen surprised him, saying he was a punching bag last year... Not sure what he means exactly by that term. Pff said and others have said he was a solid pass protector but didn't push well in the run.

But the most important and relevent analysis was provided by Bears5140, who said that when Matt Slauson blocks a man, THAT MAN STAYS BLOCKED.

I had no doubts about Slauson after hearing this.

I can tell by the CAPS you're being a dick....

Through 2 games his play has been close to flawless... Now consider his cap number and it is pretty safe to say this signing was an absolute steal. His wife is from the area so I'm sure he'd like to stay but if he plays at this level all year, it will cost the Bears some money to keep him.
