Not if a parent legitimately feels that playing football could have serious long term consequences on their kids health. Like I said, you can do what you want with your kid but trying to tell a parent they should make decisions about their kid based on your opinions on the safety of football and not their own opinion is silly.

Some people won't let their kids play football. Some people will. What's the point you are trying to make? That a parent shouldn't tell a kid not to do something they did? If so, then you are a few thousands years too late. Parents do that all the time. So again, what is the point you are trying to make?

That there are many more dangerous activities in life than football.

If the kid wants to play let 'em.

Sure beats bangin heroin

And the point remains. What risks a parent decides they want to take with their kid is their choice and theirs alone. Just because you think there are more dangerous things in life in football doesn't mean every parent will feel the same.

And yeah, football may be better than banging heroin but I doubt the choice is football or heroin. I think the choice is football or soccer/baseball or a myriad of other sports or activities you can get your kid involved in.

Those parents should re-prioritize.

For some reason this thread has turned into reminding me of a quote from Paul Newman in Slap Shot when he mentions Jack Robinson. He's not PC though so I'll refrain from quoting it.

Of course it is. Life is full of risks and parents decide for their kids which risks they are willing to expose their kids to and which they don't want to expose them to. You are trying to tell people to re-prioritize based on your personal views.

Yeah...most parents think heroin is better for you than playing football.

Can you read?

It's as if you can grasp the fact I'm playing off your sensationalism

No the point I made is that you set up a false dilemma as if parents are deciding between football and heroin. They are not. They are more likely deciding between football and any number of other sports or activities they kids can engage in. It was a completely unrealistic choice.

Hmm...dilemma no.

Comparison...yes

Heroin=bad for your health

Football=bad for your health

Pretty simple

The above is suggesting that the choice a parent faces is let their kids play football or they might end up bangin heroin. Pretty sure that if a kid doesn't play football, they have other things to occupy their time than bangin heroin so the above is just a pointless comparison.

It's like you can't effectively comprehend a 3 sentence post.

Let alone your own argument

I comprehended that you made a comparison that isn't actually relevant when it comes to a parent deciding whether their kid plays football. No one sits there and says let me let my kid do one dangerous activity because it isn't as bad as another dangerous activity.

This is akin to saying hey let me let my kid juggle knives because it is better than him juggling live grenades.
