OMG, I was just making fun of the Bears on the RWTB about never making the big move. LOL, this is great if it's true.
Just saw it on Espn bottomline. John Clayton coming up on ESPNnews and more on Sportscenter on the trade

I know it was so funny because I was listening to that just when I saw it on bottomline. I literaly jumped out of my chair and started going crazy.
This seems like a delayed April Fools day joke ESPN is playing on us all.
I want to see what's outgoing in this deal.
Im watching ESPNnews right on as Clayton should be on soon. I give updates soon
Unbelievable..Just f*cking INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!

The trib picked up on the story but has no extra data.
From the suntimes sports home page. The Bears acquired quarterback Jay Cutler today for No. 1 draft picks in 2009 and 2010, a No. 3 pick this year and Kyle Orton, the Sun-Times has learned. The Bears receive the Broncos' fifth-round draft pick this year. Cutler, 25, is coming off a Pro Bowl season with the Broncos, but he became disgruntled and wanted a trade after learning Denver was considering a deal for quarterback Matt Cassel.
2 1sts, a 3rd, and Orten is a steep price to pay, but I think it's a nice deal for us.
Yeah, thats a pretty steep price, but how often can a franchise acquire a 25 year old Pro-Bowl quarterback who has arguably the best arm in the whole league?
The picks hurt, but I like the move.
Finally we have a QB worth a damn.
The Bears actually recieved a third round pick not the Broncos

Agreed. What have we gotten out of our first round picks in the past five years? I'd give up any 2 of them + Orton for Cutler.Yeah, thats a pretty steep price, but how often can a franchise acquire a 25 year old Pro-Bowl quarterback who has arguably the best arm in the whole league?

Bears get:
Cutler, 2009 5th rounder
Bears give:
2009 1st, 2009 3rd, 2010 1st, Kyle Orton
Do you have a link to anything else?
Just announced: Orlando Pace has been signed Per ESPN News....
Best day ever?
SOOO excited to see the Bears make two moves today that really were needed. Hopefully they find a WR and they have a pretty good offense because of Cutler and the rocket arm.

If Pace is healthy, then this is going to be awesome. New QB and premier tackle? I have my doubts about Pace's level of play though.SOOO excited to see the Bears make two moves today that really were needed. Looks real.
Great day for the bears. Lets hope Cutler stays healthy and does not make us regret trading away those two firsts.
Also, Im surprised Minny didnt get in on this. To me, if they hope to keep AP there, they a need a real QB.
I'll take a 'Kirk, Tyrus, Jerome James and a first for Amare' please.
Jay Cutler is a pretty outstanding acquisition. He is an extremely-talented quarterback. I think he will like the Windy City.

Minny would have had a hard time topping our offer. If they offer 2 1sts, a 3rd, and one of their QBs then that offer is quite a bit worse than ours. Still it seems like it would have been a no brainer for them to bid somehow given how close they'd be to the superbowl if they had gotten Cutler.
Nice pickup for you Bear fans... I'm glad he went there over the Redskins being a Giant fan. I think Pace is done though he should be decent but he isn't the Pace of the past
You guys should win the division with the pickup.
Minny signed Sage Rosenfels so I never thought they'd really make an attempt at Cutler.
I can't wait to see what happens with Greg Olsen. He could flat out blow up into one of the premier TE's in the league with a QB like Cutler. Think of all the scrambles outside the pocket, giving Olsen time to separate from LB's.
I haven't been this excited about a Chicago trade since the Cubs landed Nomar (which didn't work out).

I'm surprised the Jets didn't get him to be honest. The 3rd might of been the deal breaker. If you want someone you gotta go for it so good for the Bears.chi_hawks_23 wrote:

People talked bad when the Giants made their trade for Eli which ending up being Rivers and Merriman but it got the Giants a Super Bowl and I would do that trade every time.
You guys have a good defense and good RB and now a QB that can flat out throw. I would say you all are the 2nd best in the NFC behind the Giants going into the season
It took 3 hours, but i'm just beginning to think clear.
