SS Ryan Theriot
C Michael Barrett (Geovany Soto) hard to pick between the two
1B Derrek Lee
3B Aramis Ramirez
2B Mark DeRosa
RF Sammy Sosa
LF Alfonso Soriano (only consistent one in left)
CF Corey Patterson (see above)

P Carlos Zambrano
P Greg Maddux
P Mark Prior
P Ryan Dempster (his couple of years as a starter have been great)
P Kerry Wood (when he was healthy)

RP Will Ohman
RP Michael Wuertz
RP Carlos Marmol
CP Kerry Wood, Ryan Dempster (both were the best closers we had)

There were more RP but I can't think of them right now.

Byrd will be this decades CF, almost sure of it, unless we don't re-sign him and go with Colvin or Jackson.

Personally I feel Byrd no matter how well he does will be gone after his contract is up because of the kids we have in the minors. Unless he wants to sign on as a 4th outfielder.

Or if the Cubs become an elite team, with just a hole or two, then they might trade either Colvin or Jackson and call up Fuld as a backup.

I don't see them trading Colvin. Jackson maybe. I see them trading Fuld before they trade any of the other kids. Fuld is older than those guys by a few years.

I don't know what teams would want Fuld, and if they did, they wouldn't give us too much. Though his hitting is underrated, he did bat .299.

I think he would be a fourth outfielder at best on any team. He will hit for average and steal a few bases, but it would all be in a limited role. Colorado would be a perfect team for him.

Yeah, and San Diego. They have a huge field so he could get a lot of extra base hits there. Can't believe I forgot about them.

But hard to hit homers, that's why whoever gets Adrian Gonzalez will get even better production from him.

Fuld isn't a power hitter though, so it would work out for him.

I know, I just was referring to Gonzalez being traded.

If we had a hole at first, I'd want him, but our team is doing so well I almost don't want to get rid of anybody to call up Castro.

Gonzalez would be good to look at (if he isn't traded) at the end of the year since Lee's contract will be up. I'd hate to not have Lee on the team but he is aging and I'd rather have a younger first baseman that can duplicate and then some Lee's numbers.

Maybe when Lee is up, but then there is also Pena and Fielder among others coming to free agency soon.

I don't see the Cubs paying Fielder what he is going to want. It would be nice to have his offensive caliber in the line up but he will be to high priced.

Fielder, Pujols, Gonzalez, etc. are going to command at least 180M. Pujols a quarter billion at least.
