Rolfe and Pause opt out of stage 2 of the re-entry draft, Rolfe has resigned and Pause close to resigning. Sorry if Pause gets more than $50k, that's would be a bad signing. Thorrington also opted out, if you need a back up to Larentowicz then sign Thorrington instead.

It is disappointing that players still can get less than $50K, but the business model has been very effective in the league so I guess it is ok. Hopefully, player salaries go up in the next decade or so though.

Sporting will have two USL PRO affiliates in 2014:
OKC Energy FC
Orlando City SC

each will get half the players guaranteed by a regular affiliation agreement (so 2 as opposed to 4) and OKC will become the sole affiliate in 2015 when Orlando is in MLS, for obvious reasons (though it is not impossible for a major league team to serve as a farm team for another, see Kansas City Athletics and New York Yankees in the 1950's though obviously not a formal agreement, just a fun fact).

If only we had an owner that cares about his team as does Kansas City.

We'll at least have to enter our Reserve Team to the USL PRO in 2015 with the reserve league going away, and technically it does give us more control of players and will have the full schedule. I would prefer to be in the league for 2014 though, but it sounds like Portland (Sacramento, though Earthquakes - who rejected affiliation with Sacramento - have complained to the league about it), Columbus (Dayton) and LA (reserves) may be the only additional newcomers, while Dallas (reserves) and Colorado (Colorado Springs expansion team) enter in 2015. Real Salt Lake reportedly is looking to found a team in or around San Diego. Orlando will affiliate with their own franchise while SKC goes fully to OKC. Houston already signed with Pittsburgh this offseason, and Philadelphia-Harrisburg, New England-Rochester and D.C.-Richmond still exist.

Antigua and VSI will reportedly fold this offseason.

Chicago - ???
Chivas - ???
Colorado - Colorado Springs?
Columbus - Dayton?
Dallas - Reserves?
D.C. - Richmond
Houston - Pittsburgh
LA - Reserves?
Montreal - ???
New England - Rochester
New York City - ???
New York Red Bulls - ???
Orlando - Own franchise
Philadelphia - Harrisburg
Portland - Sacramento?
Real - San Diego expansion?
San Jose - ???
Seattle - Tacoma expansion?
Sporting - OKC
Toronto - Toronto Lynx from PDL -> Hamilton?
Vancouver - ???

Still a few teams with question marks, but we're not going to get the best geographic option it seems.

What's the deal with Pause? He's listed on our roster, but no official announcement of his signing. If he's brought back, that would be a waste of a roster spot and salary cap space.

There was the report that we were close to resigning both him and Rolfe but then Rolfe went official and he didn't.

I'm assuming either delayed announcement or still negotiating minor details.

Not MLS, but the NWSL's Boston Breakers have moved back to Harvard Stadium in Boston proper.

EOS report suggests this move could be in order to move Johnson to a European club midseason, I hope we find a way to keep him, but I'm really hoping Reynish can perform pretty well at MLS level then, instead of throwing away a season during a transfer window.
