Chicago Bears vs Philadelphia Eagles Recent History

2007: The Eagles host the Chicago Bears in this Week 7 matchup. Until late in the 4th quarter the game had been a field goal game with the Bears leading 12-9. With 4:57 left, Eagles QB Donovan McNabb thew a pass to Matt Schobel for a touchdown to go ahead 16-12. A few minutes later after an Eagles punt pinned the Bears at their own 3 yard line, Bears QB Brian Griese led a 97 yard drive that ended with a Muhsin Muhammad touchdown with 9 seconds left in the game. Griese led the drive with no timeouts and the mic in his helmet quit working, so he had little communication with the coaches. The win improved the Bears to 3-4 in the season.

2008: The Bears hosted the Eagles in this Sunday night early season matchup. The Bears came out on fire immediately scoring a touchdown on their first series. The Eagles would tie it up. Kyle Orton would throw 3 first half touchdowns and the Bears would have a 21-14 lead at halftime. The Eagles defense adjusted and the Bears offense did little in the second half. With a narrow 24-20 lead in the 4th quarter and the Eagles driving, the Bears defense held the Eagles out of the endzone on four straight plays from the goalline. The Bears then walked away with a narrow 24-20 win.

2009: The Bears again hosted the Eagles in another Sunday night matchup. The Eagles jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter. The Bears slowly cut the lead with field goals before taking a 12-10 lead in the 3rd quarter. McNabb and the Eagles struck back with a 48 yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson. The Bears responded on their next drive with a Jay Cutler TD pass to Kellen Davis and a two point conversion to take a 20-17 lead. Robbie Gould would miss a field goal to give the Bears a six point lead and McNabb and the Eagles drove the field and took the lead for good with a rushing touchdown by LeSean McCoy. Cutler would throw a game ending interception during the two-minute drill to end any comeback hope as the Bears fell 24-20 and their record fell to 4-6.

2010: The Bears once again hosted the Eagles in a Sunday afternoon matchup. The Eagles were the hottest team in the NFL at the time. Michael Vick had yet to throw an interception at this point in the season. The Bears ended all of that. They streaked out to a 14-3 lead before Philadelphia made it interesting at 14-13 Bears with under 2 minutes left in the first half. Vick was intercepted for the first time that season off an deflected pass that went right into the arms of Chris Harris. The Bears then drove down the field and scored a touchdown before the end of the half for a 21-13 lead. They dominated the 3rd quarter taking a 31-13 lead. They would allow Philadelphia to drive and score multiple field goals in the 4th before cutting the lead to 31-26 in the final minutes. But their onside kick failed and the Bears took the victory and an important tie-breaker to shoot their record up to 8-3.

2011: The Bears finally go back to Philadelphia for a Monday Night Football Matchup. A bit of back and forth in this game ends in the Bears with a 10 point hole in the 2nd half. Cutler leads a 4th quarter comeback and the Bears take this game 30-24. The Eagles fans are left pissed off.

He did play turnover free ball against the Steelers earlier this year and has been successful against the Eagles the past two meetings. It'll be difficult to say what exactly happens here as on the road his numbers are even worse on SNF.

Eagles 3

Bold Predictions

Briggs comes back, and run D is much improved, allowing 4 yards on 26 carries.

Peppers de-cleats the LT and LG on a single block which allows Bostic to get the clean-up sack (this happens like 11 times)

Foles never attempts a pass because he is continuously sacked on every pass play

Conte gets a FF, and returns for a TD.

Alshon re-enacts every spectacular TD catch over the last three weeks in one game.

Marshall gets an end around.

Forte trucks over the entire eagles D, on one play, at one point actually turning around to find the last eagle standing and running him down like a rabid bighorn sheep. Then, scores on a walk in.

Cutler throws one INT, but promptly runs down field makes the solo tackle, stripping the ball, with Kyle long recovering, and running it in for a TD.

This game is going to be epic.

I think a lot in this game will come down to the results of the Dallas-Skins game..The Eagles motivation will be influenced by that score IMO

The Eagles need to be motivated either way. If the Eagles lose to the Bears and to the Cowboys, the Cowboys win the division.

If the cowboys win, the results of the Bears game has no bearing on the Eagles chances of making the playoffs.

I am so stoked for this game! Bears win by lots and a reinvigorated D led by Briggs stomps the eagles' O.

To top it off the fates are in our favor and the lions as packers lose.

Man I really hope we lock it up Sunday night I won't be able to handle the anticipation of waiting a week to play GB for the division. Especially that tie against Minnesota and that gay comeback against Dallas almost like an Omen... remember back a month ago a few of us were saying week 17 against pack would decide the division and now its starting to take shape. Almost feels like it has to happen, for the bears to take back the division and start beating green bay regularly. As much as I wanna see a clinch Sunday night, taking out the pack to get in would be much sweeter and fitting!

31-24 bears!

Honestly if we hold McCoy, if that is even possible, then we win this game.
