Apparently Bridgewater falling to 14 isn't as far fetched as it was at the beginning of the season. Some scouts think he's not tall enough or big and strong enough. They worry about him being to frail for the NFL level. Never mind he's the most complete passer in the draft, they're starting to nitpick the little things.

For the Bears I think the conversation begins and ends with Trent Murphy because he's a base 4-3 end with the versatility to play linebacker. He's an Arizona boy that I've been high on from the get go since I'm originally from there.

Nitpicking got us Alshon Jeffery in the 2nd round when he was once rated as high as 1st overall. Shit happens.

If we need a LB, draft a fucking LB.

If we need a DE, draft a DE.

Name ONE successful defensive player in the NFL with the "versatility" to play LB or DE in a 4-3.

There aren't any!

"Versatility" is "draft speak" for "we don't know what he'll be in the NFL."

Love these mock drafts by fans.

Always have guys being drafted by the Bears about 30 spots or more below where everyone else projects them going.

Ealy of Mizzou at 51? I have seen mocks with us picking him at 14.

The DT from Minnesota at 5? Ditto - I have seen mocks with us picking him at 14.

Mosley AND Skov? Why?

You do realize that this thread is based on a simulator, right? The posters have no control over the fact that a player happens to be available when they pick.

Also, to be fair the comment earlier on Murphy being able tp play LB and DE is accurate; he meant a pass rushing OLB, not a 43 backer. Murphy is a legit prospect for teams looking to plug him in at either position.

I wish the draft had to go as this one went. No DT help, but I like what we did.

Round 1 - Clowney - DE - South Carolina
Round 2 - Roberson - CB - Florida
Round 3 - Pryor - S - Louisville
Round 4 - Stork - C - FSU
Round 5 - Crichton - DE - Oregon State
Round 6 - Matthews - QB - Cornell
Round 6 - Stephen - DT - UConn

As you mentioned an entertaining website. This may make Bears' fan scream, but suppose we got DE help in FA:

Round 1 - Dennard - CB - Michigan State
Round 2 - Seferian-Jenkins - TE - Washington
Round 3 - Loston - S - LSU
Round 4 - Jones - DT - PSU
Round 5 - Lynch - DE - USF
Round 6 - Williams - QB - Cornell
Round 6 - Stone - C - Tennessee

How the fuck do you guys keep having Clowney fall to you? I've run around 10 of them and the best I've had so far was:

1 - DE - Stephen Tuit - ND
2 - DT - Ra'shede Hageman - UM (the only massive fluke of a guy falling I've managed)
3 - CB - Antone Exum - VT
4 - C - Weston Richberg - Colorado St
5 - CB - Deion Belue - Alabama
6 - S - Ty Zimmerman - Kansas St
6 - LB - Boseko Lokombo - Oregon

Honestly, the last 3 picks were pretty much BPA at spots where we lack depth and I would have liked to get more LB help earlier, but that's how it worked out.

I did a three round draft with the exact same results as those top 3. Coming away with one of the Florida corners and Pryor would be pretty great.

Unrealistic, but this would be fun to play out and shake things up:

14 OT JAKE MATTHEWS TEXAS A&M
Maybe push Slausen to C and Bushrod to G? Creates lots of depth and options. Goodbye, Garza!

51 S HA’SEAN CLINTON-DIX ALABAMA
Sorely needed safety help. Paired with a free agency signing of TJ Ward, things are looking up in the backfield. Ciao, Conte!

82 DT DANIEL MCCULLERS TENNESSEE
Our NT of the future as we switch to 3-4. Maybe later, Melton!

113 DE MARCUS SMITH LOUISVILLE
Edge rusher of the future. Peace out, Peppers!

144 RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON
Change of pace weapon from the backfield and kick returner. Bye bye Bush and Hester!

167 CB VICTOR HAMPTON SOUTH CAROLINA
Too bad, Tillman!

175 DE KAREEM MARTIN NORTH CAROLINA
So long, Shae!
