Because if Cutler goes down this year, we'll have to hear the same shit we heard last year?

I would be worried if my backup came in and performed as well as I did; 2 years in a row would be an embarrassment.

That's presuming Cutler isn't playing even better... We know he's gonna get hurt so that parts valid.

He wouldn't be bad for sure but do the bears want to keep playing the veteran backup QB game? Every year or two they are in a position to be overspending or taking a risk and spending nothing to get a free agent backup QB. Maybe this isn't the year to do it but the bears need to get to the point where they are drafting a QB as high as the 3rd round every couple years. Thats the best system because either they perform well and you get to trade them for picks or they leave at the end of their contracts and you get a comp pick for them.
