They won't have to sue, they'll just send a C&D and be done with it. Using the Bears C logo is obviously illegal unless he has permission. Using the fonts/colors/stylization for 'inspiration' is 100% fine.

You should qualify the last part of the statement and say: "Using the fonts/colors/stylization for 'inspiration' is usually fine to account for trade dress infringement. But any way you toss the dice, if he refused to stop via a cease and desist letter it would absolutely be worth it for the Bears to sue.
